MikesVikes
He's playing very well after the death of his father. Will he get the airtime the Brett Favre does? He deserves it just as much.

pig devilz
from article in todays Boston Globe.... Greg Cassel's three boys grew up to be professional athletes and leaders. Jack Cassel pitches for the Houston Astros and Justin Cassel is a hurler in the White Sox system. Matt Cassel went to the Little League World Series when he was 12, earned a football a scholarship to Southern Cal, and today quarterbacks the most successful NFL franchise of the 21st century. Dad/coach Greg Cassel was busy text-messaging his ballplaying sons when Hohler sat with him in his trailer in September. "My boys are fearless," Greg Cassel said. "There's no quit in them." pig devilz
wow!....third TD of the first half. he's really slinging the ball, stepping up in the pocket, scrambling, really playing with a purpose. can't say that it is because of his dad, but on the first TD he pointed to the sky.... Vet
Why do these guys seem to do so well the week after their fathers die? I'm not wishing anything bad on anyone, but how's Jay Cutler's dad feeling? I need a big week out of him next week.
pig devilz
from Mike Reiss, Globe ~ On an emotional day for quarterback Matt Cassel, he shared an embrace with coach Bill Belichick after the final gun sounded, and tucked the game ball in his left arm before leaving the field. Quarterback gets a well deserved game ball after his gutsy performance. He finishes 18 of 30 for 218 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, but the story was much bigger than that. ~ and, I'll add... in the post game interview he came to the podium and thanked all the fans, teammates, coaches and ownership for the support shown to him and his family, then left without taking questions about the game. Classy guy.
