Brandon Jacobs

With Jacobs game being Sunday night I'm looking for all the information I can find on his injury status and if he's going to play or not.

Here's what I've seen:

Wednesday 12/17

(Rotoworld) Brandon Jacobs (knee) returned to Giants practice Wednesday.

Analysis: He's fairly certain to be listed with "limited" participation, but Jacobs is on his way back. He's fully expected to play in Week 16 against Carolina.

(Rotoworld) Updating a previous item, Brandon Jacobs' (knee) participation in practice Wednesday was "limited."

Analysis: It's better than nothing. Jacobs is dealing with sprains to both knees, but will start against Carolina. His matchup will receive a boost if Panthers NT Ma'ake Kemoeatu (ankle) is out. Kemo did not practice on Wednesday

Thursday 12/18

(Rotoworld) Brandon Jacobs (knee) was limited in Giants practice again Thursday.

This doesn't change anything, but Jacobs remains on track to start against the Panthers, who will likely be minus run-stopper Ma'ake Kemoeatu (ankle).

Source: giants.com

(KFFL) Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 18, but he is expected to play in Week 16.

Friday 12/19

Brandon Jacobs (knee) and Domenik Hixon (ankle) both practiced Friday, but are listed as questionable for Week 16.

The Newark Star-Ledger reports Jacobs and Hixon are on the "up side" of questionable and Giants coach Tom Coughlin confirmed Friday that Jacobs will play "barring setbacks" in the next 48 hours. We won't know their official statuses until Sunday night, but Jacobs is expected to start against a Carolina defense that ranks 18th against the run and will likely be minus top DT Ma'ake Kemoeatu. Jacobs is worth waiting for in fantasy title games

Saturday 12/20

(TheHuddle) ESPNews reports New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) said he will play in the team's Week 16 game.

Analysis: With nothing officially being said by the Giants in regard to Jacobs status, he should be viewed by fantasy owners as a game-time decision with lots of risk surrounding him for Week 16. If your fantasy team is in the championship game of the playoffs for your league you may want to temper your expectations for Jacobs and consider other options. Even if he does play he is likely to have a more diminished role with Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw also capable of carrying the ground attack.

Sunday 12/21

(Rotoworld) FoxSports.com confirms that Brandon Jacobs is fully expected to start Sunday.

Analysis: Jacobs said it himself to reporters and ESPN Radio in New York on Friday. He was angry with the team for sitting him down last week, but now thinks the week off helped him get back to 100%. Owners can confidently start him

Looking at the Huddle Wednesday predictions, he's rated for 90 and 2 TDs, against a pretty good Panther D. I dunno, I'd LOVE it if that turned out to be the case, but seems optimistic, at best. I'd say it more likely now that the Giants have headed south of late, tho.

Bump again. My only league that I'm still alive(no playoffs) is a TD-only league and I benched McClain yesterday to put my horse Jacobs in. If Jacobs isn't a go, I'm down to S. Morris(starting), J. Stewart, and Ward. It would be nice to keep one season alive out of 6. And I need my horse to do that.

Jacobs is Active

(Rotoworld) Brandon Jacobs, WR Domenick Hixon, and DT Fred Robbins are all starting for the Giants Sunday night.

More good news for Jacobs owners: Run stuffer Ma'aake Kemoeatu is out for Carolina. Jacobs should be fresh after a week off. With swirling winds, Hixon isn't a great option in fantasy leagues, but he's available if you waited this long.
