Seattle LawDawg
Not sure how to post this since its all in Cellartracker but here are some interesting numbers of my drinking collection (as opposed to my investment collection): Breakdown by Country / Region: USA 80.40%, 242 bottles France 12.62%, 38 bottles Italy 3.65%, 11 bottles Australia, 1.66%, 5 bottles Spain 1%, 3 bottles Chile, .66%, 2 bottles New Zealand, .66%, 2 bottles Breakdown by Varietal well, I'm not typing all these out, but the big ones are: Pinot Noir: 100 bottles Cab Sauv: 47 bottles Red Bordeaux Blend: 37 bottles Syrah: 32 bottles Red Rhone Blend: 13 bottles Red Blend: 11 bottles Champagne: 7 bottles Chardonnay: 6 bottles Sangio: 5 bottles and so on... At some point, I'm going to get my other cellar inventory up to date. Its in bad need of updating after the fall mailing list rush.
twiley
This gives me a good reason to sit down and track everything this weekend. I use cellar tracker as well but probably only have about 50 bottles logged, Right now I'm probably around 400.
Seattle LawDawg
Is that a good inventory program? I suppose we should use one. Does it say where in the fridge a bottle is? Cuz our's is double deep and it's now 3/4 full, so I have no idea what we have behind the first row. Does it offer any info on when a bottle is nearing projected maturity and maybe flags those bottles so we don't let them sit too long? its great! You can enter a bin number. I know quite a few people who work out grid locations (D4a, D4b, etc) to map their fridges. It does show projected maturity. Seattle LawDawg
Looks cool. Is the bin number on every bottle and the program knows what that means? (my wife's the wine pro, so I'm not that knowledgeable) edit: I'm at their website. I can't find out how much it costs? "CellarTracker itself is free, but users are encouraged to make annual, voluntary payments. $30/year is the suggested contribution for users with fewer than 500 bottles in their cellar, $60/year for users with 500 to 1,000 bottles, and $100/year for users with more than 1,000 bottles. In order to see community valuations or to register for WineBid.com auction pricing data, you need to have paid in the past 12 months." There is a bin # per bottle. There are two basic views of the cellar. One in the screenshot that groups all of the same wines together. You can also view by individual bottles and see the location for each. The reporting functionality is very good. It works well for me since I keep my collection off-site. (have less than 50 bottles at home) I can export to excel, print it out and have plenty of information at the cellar. My Inventory
nogohawk
Currently have 138 wines in inventory and anywheres from 1 - 6 bottles. Usually try to purchase 2-3 of each when I do. Probably approaching 350 total bottles in 2 wine refrigs. + about 2 cases of dry storage (which are usually consumed in the next 2 weeks given the holiday season ) Mostly a variety of reds plus a good supply of ports. Have a few Chards & blancs plus 2 btls of champagne. I keep my Personal Wine List on Wine Spectators website but thought of using CellarTracker. I'll probably update it over the holidays during my time off before I begin tax season. Just picked up 7 btls. of Seghesio Zin 2007 yesterday Also added 2005 Montes Alpha M (3) and 2006 Catena Zapata Malbec (4) earlier in the week. Life is good ETA - Forgot to mention picking up a couple of nice Cabs last week - Shafer 1.5, Hewitt & Sbragia. detlef
I need to inventory mine. Maybe over the holidays... I just ramped up on White Burgundies as per the thread I started but my stuff is all over the place. Pretty decent Rhone selection, Red and White Burg, a handful of domestic Pinot, Descent batch of 2000 Bdx, a few Cal Cab cherries, a smattering of Barolo and Brunello, then a few dozen completely random things. The 05 One Point Five is a huge fruity cab - definitely not too hard to identify it as a SL district cab. Not my top pick, but it was the group's wine of the night. (It was much better than the Don Melchor!). We drank a 01 Shafer Cab a few weeks ago that was in its prime.

SheikYerbuti
I have 1 bottle of Yellow Tail Chardonnay in case of emergency. It'd be friggin funny to get 1 bottle of Screaming Eagle and put it next to it. Funny, but expensive.
