euphy
I'm in a 12 team league, and this year for the first time... we are doing a losers bracket, the winner gets the #1 overall pick. Some people are already b*tching about it even though it was stated in the beginning of the year that we were doing it. Winner gets #1 overall, second place and everyone else gets nothing. Winner takes all. Next year, when draft time rolls around, we will do a random draft... and the person who ends up with the first pick, swaps picks with the person who won the losers bracket. Any other leagues doing this?
Jrick35
12 team league, we take 6 teams to the playoffs. The first 2 teams eliminated from the playoffs and the 6 non-playoff teams compete in our consolation bracket. It is total points for weeks 14, 15 & 16. Winner gets $50 and the 1st pick in the next draft, 2nd - 8th place pick 2nd - 8th in the next draft but win no money. The teams win 1st place through 4th overall round out the dratf with picks 9 - 12 with the champ picking last.
Vet
Next year, when draft time rolls around, we will do a random draft... and the person who ends up with the first pick, swaps picks with the person who won the losers bracket. That part makes absolutely no sense. You have a random draft, but the person who gets the first pick has to forfiet that pick to the person who won the losers game the year before? Idiotic. The Yakuza
We just keep our random draft every year. Easiest way to keep it fair. If you give it to the last place person then the teams at the bottom will start trying to LOSE so they can get the first pick. Plus the people in last place are often the shady people that don't really get into the whole thing in the first place.
CowboysDiehard
We have a rule in my league that the player you draft in the 5th round stays on your roster for three years. No dropping, no trading. We do have a consolation bracket to play for the first pick in this round. Basically, the person who wins gets to go to the head of the line in that round. So, it's not an overall #1, but it is an important pick.
kcmast
Winner of our toilet bowl gets to pick draft slot. The rest is filled in by previous year's results. First year that we have done this and this year's winner was last year's toilet bowl winner
