tazinib1
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Marshall Faulk "legitimately" wants a chance to be the Rams' next head coach. Faulk, currently an NFL Network analyst, turns 36 in February. He's pretty good in his current role, but it could turn into a circus act if the Rams really considered hiring him. He has no coaching experience at any level and his relationship with the face of the Rams' franchise (Steven Jackson) is lacking. The Rams need to go in full rebuilding mode after this season with an experienced coordinator or recycled head coach. Marshall? I love you man but seriously? Don't ya think ya might wanna try to be a position coach first? It's nice that he's interested in getting back on the sidelines, but cmon bro...lay off the hippy lettuce and get some experience first. Ziachild007
No worse that Deion wanting to coach the Falcons last year.
tazinib1
No worse that Deion wanting to coach the Falcons last year. No doubt. I think some players out there will make very good HC's in the future, but I just don't see how they can expect to be taken seriously when they have no coaching experience at any level. Randall
Let Faulk make his pitch then hire the best candidate., It would count as interviewing a minority candidate so why not? I see no problem with thinking about it. Faulk could be a good front office PR guy.
kpholmes
I'd take Faulk as the next Raider HC...
keggerz
I'd take Faulk as the next Raider HC... you would take Ricky Williams as the next Raider HC
Bill Swerski
The same Marshall Faulk who would go out partying the Saturday night before a game? He wants to be a freaking head coach... at age 36? Sorry, Marshall. Try starting off as a running backs coach. If you're good at that, you might get promoted to offensive coordinator three or four years later. And if you're good at that, you MIGHT get lucky and get a HC offer another five years down the road. You may have been a bad-ass in your playing days, but you're not going to be wearing a headset and calling plays before you're enshrined into Canton. BeeR
Marshall? I love you man That's scary on a variety of levels bro. This whole "I played the game so I know wt* I'm talking about" mentality is laughable. This guy even sucks as a decent analyst - and he's going to be a coach? The only reason anyone should hire him to coach so much as Pee Wees is for the publicity.
Grits and Shins
He's bound to be better at it than he is at being an analyst. Of course that is not saying much.

The last player I had a serious case of nut-huggeridis over, was Faulk.
jackshi17
If that's true he should do it the same way Singletary did it.
Bier Meister
i remember a lot of players referring to him as the brightest player on the field...likening him to a second qb on the field... his reads on defenses was outstanding. i wouldn't be surprised if he made a very good oc and quite possibly decent hc.
