Luckily I drafted DeAngelo Williams later in the draft. And I traded away Santana Moss for Maurice Jones-Drew in mid-season when Moss was hot. It paid off in the end and won it all! ts Posted December 25, 2008 Share Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) Twelve-team league, drafted 10th ... but as usual, it's not always that 1st pick that makes your season, although sometimes a poor 1st rounder can break your season:  1.10 - Gore 2.03 - Fitzgerald 3.10 - Brees 4.03 - Edge 5.10 - Welker 6.03 - A Gonzalez 7.10 - S Morris 8.03 - DeAngelo 9.10 - NYG Defense 10 >> 16 - Others  For most of the season, my starters were: Brees, Gore/DeAngelo, Fitz/Welker, NYG, Bironas ... with my RB-WR flex spot changing almost weekly, based on matchups ... Edge, Bruce, Bradley, Breaston, AGonzo, Choice, D. Foster & S. Morris all seeing at least one flex start during the year. I rarely take a QB as early as I did in this league this season, but at the time Brees just seemed like a better value pick than the RB3/WR2-WR3 types that were still on the board at 3.10 so I took a shot with him hoping he'd be a difference-maker, glad in retrospect that I did. Having DeAngelo fall to me in the 8th was obviously found fantasy gold. Fitz & Welker were consistently strong plays all season long, so this group ended up helping me to a season with only 2 regular-season losses & the division title, as well as leading the league in points scored on the way to the fantasy super bowl win - sometimes you get lucky & everything just seems to fall into place. My keepers going in were Frank Gore and Steve Smith  1 - Drew Brees 2 - Roy Williams 3 - Winslow Jr 4 - Thomnas Jones 5 - Galloway 6 - Ricky Williams 7 - Felix Jones 8 - Giants D 9 - Reggie Williams 10 - Kevin Walter 11 - Curry 12 - Jeff Reed 13 - Garcia 14 - Lee 15 - Courtney Taylor 16 - Tim Hightower  Jones in the 4th was a killer for me. Roy and K2 in 2nd and 3rd were busts. Brees, Jones, Gore, and Steve Smith carried me throug the season. xMRogers Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 I answered for the guy that beat me in our SB - he went 4th, took Addai then Wayne - but after that had AJ, Welker, Turner, Gates, Forte (coles), Cutler in order - other than Coles, heck of a 3rd through 9th round...
