SLAYER
61 yds to go Saints have the ball. Shanked punt only to 45 can't break the record. Edited December 28, 2008 by SLAYER

xMRogers
Gotta give him credit for throwing downfield to try and pull a miracle win out as opposed to an easy 15 yd dump route against the prevent.....unfortunately, in the record books will just look like 2nd place. 'canes2004
It would be nice to see someone a lot less arrogant hold the record. Yeah, OK. An arrogant NFL Quarterback? Who would of thought such a thing? Get a clue a read up on Dan and what he does for kids and kids charities. Ask Jim Kelly and Boomer about how much Dan has done for their kids charities dealing with their illnesses. Or maybe about the kids Dan and his wife adopted to give them a life all kids deserve. For all the selfless things he does in the community, nobody deserves the record more.

I would never take away from what Marino does. That said, Brees taking over that record would surely not be a step down in any way.

I'm sure Dan is a great person off the field as is Drew Brees. No need to say anything else about either one personally. But when it comes to football Dan has always been an egotistical jerk. So, let me rephrase... As it pertains to football alone, I can't stand Dan Marino and as a Saints homer I hate it that Drew fell just 15 yards short of breaking Marino's record. I also would have relished seeing a clip of Dan the Man throwing another temper fit when Drew broke the record. But it was not meant to be. No need to be down just because of a record falling short. The future looks bright in NO.
