Broncos become first team to lead their division for 16 weeks, only to be eliminated from the postseason the final week of the season. 3. It was the first time two teams started 8-3, and both missed the playoffs (Tampa & Dallas). As remarkable as the Lions feat was, the implosions by the Broncos/Bucs/Cowboys concurrently was amazing.
