Fitz - 59%

AJ - 17%

Moss - 14%

Smith - 8%

TO - 3% (clearly cowboyz1 has free time)

before i saw the results i without a doubt said to myself AJ, now there is only 5Kish votes so alot of people could be swayed by Tod Haleys anti-Boldin ( ) play calling. what say you guys? i agree that top two are AJ and Fitz but this margin is way off imo.

I put Fitz and AJ about the same talent-wise, but Fitz is just a more stable producer in my opinion due to AJ missing a couple of games a year, and AJ's QB missing more than a couple of games a year. Equal players though. Not exactly an objective time to run this poll!

I know that Fitz goes off when Boldin is across from him and when he's not... it'd be interesting to see Fitz's numbers when Boldin is sidelined and the Cards are facing a semi-decent defense. It came down to the fact that Johnson performs against EVERYONE. Sorry folks, Kevin Walter is not Anquan Boldin. Sure, he's a solid, Wes Welker-lite-esque possession guy, but Boldin he is not. Add to the argument that Steve Breaston broke out a bit this season.... Andre Johnson's my choice.

I think it has alot to do with AJ's injury history.

I love it when people keep spreading the falsehood that AJ has a history of injury problems. Ups the chances he will be available for me

He just completed his 6th season. Outside of the 7 games he missed in 2007, he's also missed 3 games in 2005. The other 4 years he has played every game. I'd add that in 2007 he actually sprained all 3 of his ligaments in his knee and still was able to return and finish the season.

I think he got a bad rap early in his career, but that's because he was stuck with David Carr as his qb, not from having a history of injuries.

It's difficult to vote against Fitz after how he's played lately. Moss hasn't played as well in the playoffs. Fitz stepped up when Boldin was out and couldn't be stopped.

+1 - I'd given the nod to Andre because of this fact, as he hasn't had a Boldin on the other side to draw attention. What's funny is that the playcalling and system have a lot to do with this as well. I mean, Antonio Bryant was a bust in the NFL until this season. Does that mean he all of a sudden got faster, more agile, better hands, etc. this year? Maybe he worked harder, practiced harder, etc. More likely he just needed the right opportunity in the right system.

On a related note, I think it will be interesting to see where Anquan Boldin ends up after this season. He's a very good WR, but he'll look a lot more average if he ends up on a poorer passing team like Buffalo, Minnesota, Jacksonville, etc.

Calvin Johnson, hands down.

78 receptions, 1331 yards, 12 TDs, for an average of 17.1 yards on a team that had FIVE different QBs (3, arguably 4, of which can't even be considered starting QB quality), no real threat opposite him (Roy stunk all year and was gone by midseason), a workmanlike but unspectacular running game, a pretty unspectacular offensive system, and one of the worst defenses in league history (meaning everyone knew they had to throw to keep up).

That stat line is right on par with Moss's second season (80 receptions, 1413 yards, 11 TDs, 17.7 avg) except Moss's team had Robert Smith, Chris Carter, Randall Cunningham, and Jeff George (don't laugh, he had a 94.2 QB rating that season), went 10-6, and made the playoffs.

How easy we forget how dominant Randy Moss is. I still think it is Moss. Maybe not statistically, but Moss has the most talent of all of them. Of course, it is all very close...

Maybe not statistically? Did we forget last season all ready? At least Brady and Moss could beat Miami.

I think Fitz and Calvin match Moss in talent. I think Fitz makes people around him better, something Moss doesn't do as well.

I remember Moss not being a factor in many playoff games. His early years in Minnesota were his best but overall he is averaging 4 catches for 75 yards and almost 1 TD in 11 games. His best year was his 2nd year where he averaged 7 for 157 and 1 TD.

Fitz, although only this year, is averaging almost double that 7 for 139 and almost 2 TD's. Close but if he continues I like him a little better.

They are close, any would be a great choice, but Fitz in the playoffs won me over. Double covered he is open.

Best WR

Fitz [ 20 ] [39.22%]

AJ [ 22 ] [43.14%]

Moss (NEP) [ 5 ] [9.80%]

Smith (CAR) [ 2 ] [3.92%]

TO [ 0 ] [0.00%]

Puddy [ 2 ] [3.92%]

This is about what I expected. Fitz and AJ are very close in talent level.

A few weeks ago Boldin would have gotten more votes than Fitzgerald.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. How could Boldin not be an option in a "Best WR poll"? Becasue Fitz has had a record-breaking playoff run? Look at what Boldin did this year, then realize he missed a month. Amazing.

Extrapolate his 2008 stats over 16 games, and you get:

118 catches, 1,380 yards, 14 TDS.
