tazinib1
In-And-Out is, by far, my burger joint of choice.
darin3
1. In-N-Out Burger, Irvine, Calif., 60% --- From a stone's throw from their corporate office, and remember the day when In-N-Out was only available in Southern California. Fantastic burgers, fries and shakes. Only complaint is that because their fries are SO fresh, they get cold real fast. They never, ever screw your order up. 2. Raising Cane’s, Baton Rouge, La., 59% --- Been here a few times; there's one in my wife's hometown back in Louisiana. Real good chicken. 3. Giordano’s Pizza, Chicago, 56% --- I'm assuming I've had their pizza, but don't remember. 4. Chick-fil-A, Atlanta, 55% --- Been there at least once. Decent. 5. Panera Bread, St. Louis, 54% --- Used to order from them when working at an office in California. They screwed my order up at least once, but it was usually fine. Good stuff. 6. Chipotle, Denver, 52% --- Meh. Alright I guess. 7. Pei Wei, Scottsdale, Ariz., 51% --- I don't think I've been there, but I'm not a hugh fan of Asian foods anyways. 8. Firehouse Subs, Jacksonville, Fla., 51% --- Huh, funny to see this here. I had never heard of them until my wife told me about 'em. There's apparently a few in Austin and she's been ravin' about 'em. 9. Taco Tote, El Paso, Texas, 50% --- Never had it. 10. Qdoba, Wheat Ridge, Colo., 49% --- Never had it. Only been to 4,5 and 6. Not sure that Panera and Chipotle are "fast food" though?
detlef
Gotta echo Darin's sentiment on In and Out fries. Everything else is great but cutting fries to order, as they do, is actually a really bad way to make them. If you cut your fries and soak them in water overnight, they stay crispy much longer after being cooked. In and Out fries get limp crazy fast and it's unfortunate because they seem to make a big deal about how they're cut to order. Also, while I have certainly embraced the southern staple of chicken biscuits, I am simply not down with the Chicken sandwich as done by Chick Fil A (and copied by others). Ironic because my issue is that it's too plain and yet the chicken biscuit which doesn't even have the pickle is, to me, perfection in your hand. Of course, they're like the 4th or 5th option around here for Chicken biscuits so I never go there. If I can't make it to Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen and just have to have one, I'll find a Biscuitville or Bojangles. KnightsOfKnee
Upon arriving in the NW after growing up in the south, i realized the closest Chick-Fil-A was 1000 miles away, which was heartbreaking. I contacted Chick-Fil-A regarding a franchise up here, but much to my dissapoinment, they are / were not ready for expansion. They did however send me a coupon for a free sandwich at my neighborhood store.

Azazello1313
I can see calling chipotle/qdoba "fast food", but not giordano's, panera or pei wei.
CaP'N GRuNGe
Only been to In N Out a few times and Chick-Fil-A once. Burgers are great at In N Out. Really don't care for the fries. Taste to much like a can of shoestring potatoes or something. Chick-Fil-A was pretty good. And we ate inside and they did come to your table and ask if you needed anything. Good service. Big Country
Animal Style Fries at in n out. Doesn;t matter that they get limpy, they are now covered in grilled onions, sauce, etc. and good. Granted, heart attack in a box, but what a way to go.
Jimmy Neutron
Pei Wei's is the less formal version of PF Chang's. Not really fast food, but good for a quick bowl of dan dan noodles.

I've been to Pei Wei a couple of times in other locations and I am just waiting for them to put one in my area of LA. As others have said, it's like PF Changs Jr. Take out PF Changs is what I want half the time, but don't really want to pay the prices and have a little more ease of getting in and out. Speaking of In-N-Out, they are real good and responsive. I complained once to corporate (something I hardly ever do) that their staff was always so darn stingy with their ketchup packets. I got a call from corporate asking me some questions about my issue with the stingy ketchup and about 3 months later they started to offer pump ketchup. I know they didn't change it just because of me, but they were clearly listening. Edited January 30, 2009 by TDFFFreak
Kid Cid
Qdoba is Chipotle's zit covered little sister. That place sucked. You can get margaritas at Chipotles. Now there's a FF chain that knows how to make their food taste good.

darin3
Headed over to one of my personal favorites: Arby's. They have good curly fries and their French dip w/ cheese is pretty tasty. Rather inexpensive... better than gross-ass McDonald's or the like., IMO.

When they changed there bread, I was alittle tentative and after tasting it, I will never buy it again. How can you possibly offer a French Dip on chibata bread? It doesn't soak up the juice and it has no flavor. The soft, buttery topped bread of old was the bomb digity. They ruined it IMO by switching bread. At any rate every Chick-Fil-A I have ever been to gets you your order really quick and doesn't seem to have the retards that most food chains do including Bojangles (though I do love their biscuits as well). In and Out the one time I ate there seemed to be the same way. On the same playing field I would put 5 Guys Burgers and Fries which recently expanded to our area.
