I have a feeling that Haynesworth gets a hugh deal and turns back into the turd he was thee years ago. It wouldn't surprise me if he never makes another Pro Bowl and goes the way of Dan WIlkinson.

That was a solid feeling you had.

Albert Haynesworth hit the free agent jackpot Friday morning by reaching a seven-year, $100 million deal with the Washington Redskins that could end up maxing out at at $115 million based on his performance, according to sources.

The deal, which was reached early Friday morning, includes $41 million in guarantees. During the first 13 months of the contract, Haynesworth will earn approximately $32 million.

His phone almost exploded with opportunities Friday morning when free agency started. More teams contacted him than expected. During the first hour, Haynesworth had at least six teams willing to give him more than $30 million in guarantees.

Albert. What he did has no place in football. It has no place period.
For any good or skills that he might have, the only thing that I will remember him for kicking off Andre Gurode's helmet and stomping on his face. I don't care if he was the last DT in the league available and my team needed one, I'd lobby for my team to play with only 10 players on the field.

While I understand and agree with your statement above. Many teams were interested in him and you'd be hard pressed to not go after him as he makes a world of difference for a defense. Over the past couple days the Redskins just got much better not only on the defensive side of the ball but as a team now as well.

Albert does not have seven years in his tank.

Character has been a HUGH issue in the modern day NFL - I can't believe we haven't even heard a word on his character yet this offseason. Gurode could have pressed charges for that garbage.

Nobody cares. Welcome to modern day sports. Colts are in desperate need of a DT (what else is new) and I'm very happy they never even considered that ghetto POS.

What an awesome guy. I will never understand why jerkoffs who interview him never mention such stand-up community contributions like this, Albert has made such a life changing about-face since his accidental scrape of Gurode's face.

"Jon Perry, an attorney with Franklin-based The Perry Firm, has announced the establishment of the Help Corey Edmondson Fund to raise cash for a 25-year-old Antioch resident injured in a car accident with former Tennessee Titan Albert Haynesworth.

Corey D. Edmondson is unable to walk, work and pay his medical or household bills since the car crash on Dec. 13, his attorney said.

He is an employee of Belk.

Haynesworth was driving a 2008 black Ferrari on I-65 near Concord Road in Brentwood at a high rate of speed when he tried to pass and clipped a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Edmondson, who lost control of his car, crossing through a lane and striking a concrete barrier in the median. The collision left black paint from Haynesworth's car on Edmondson's driver side, said Perry.

Edmondson was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He spent two weeks there.

Haynesworth was later charged with careless driving and cited for driving a vehicle that had an expired registration."
