Menudo
I know this post will have the Bushwacked's of the world saying I'm not being gracious and am being my normal annoying self. Others will say that this is pointless and there is no reason to bring it up now. However, I've actually been fairly quiet about the Steelers championship run this season, and what is the point of being a fan, if you can't enjoy your team bring home the championship. One of my favorite things about these Championship seasons is getting the Championship DVD. The NFL Films crew do a phenomenal job and it is a great way to reflect on the season. I was not a believer most of the year, as I just didn't feel the offense had what it took, but, all is well that ends well. Re-watching the Super Bowl, I think it will go down as one of the best ever. The 4th Quarter drama made that the case. The Cardinals answering the bell, and the Warner to Fitzgerald TD were amazing. I still don't know how the Steelers allowed the Cards best player to run down the middle of the field un-touched, but, at least it left enough time on the clock. The Steelers touchdown drive was legendary, and ranks right up with Montana's, as far as Super Bowl winning drives go. The DVD showed Santonio saying "I'm going to dare to be great" and telling Roethlisberger that he "wants the ball" prior to the drive starting. If you make those comments and don't come through, you look like an ass, but, Santonio came through big time, as did Ben. The game winning catch was amazing and will go down in Super Bowl lore, but, the play that won the game was Harrison's interception return. If he doesn't make that play, the Steelers likely lose the game. As for next year, the Steelers need to get continued improvement from the O-Line, Santonio needs to build off his playoff confidence and become the consistent superstar that we Steeler fans know he can be. I think the defense will be phenomenal again next year. Timmons will likely replace Foote full-time, giving them a potent linebacking crew. Number 7 isn't out of the question, but, for now, I'm going to continue to enjoy number 6. Now, back to the most boring and depressing time of the year.................... the off-season. Menudo
Is this thread about American Idol or rating Chick Flicks? Neither. It's about the fact that the Steelers just won their 6th Super Bowl, and that fact it a hard pill for many to follow. Geesh, can't you read. Also, yes, I do enjoy "American Idol" I can see why you wouldn't like it though. NTTAWWT
westvirginia
Neither. It's about the fact that the Steelers just stole their 2nd Super Bowl in a row, and that fact it a hard pill for many to follow. Geesh, can't you read. Also, yes, I do enjoy "American Idol" I can see why you wouldn't like it though. NTTAWWT That would be "bitter pill to swallow", not hard pill to follow. I've heard you like swallowing Ben's hard thing, though. NTTATWWT
Scooby
I think the steelers deserved to win, solid team all-around, excellent defense, good locker-room rapport, don't seem like they thought everything should just be handed to them, they worked hard thru all the injuries, especially on the RB side
