Footballjoe
KFFL) Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports the Washington Redskins have released DE Jason Taylor. The Redskins have released veteran defensive end-linebacker Jason Taylor, the team announced on Monday. Taylor played one season in Washington after the team acquired him in a trade with the Miami Dolphins on July 20, 2008. “Jason Taylor was a real professional during his time with the Redskins,” head coach Jim Zorn said. “He played hurt, but still gave his best effort to be prepared and play hard every week. We wish him and his family the very best.” Taylor’s 2009 salary was reported to be a hefty $8 million. Despite the team’s free agent pickups last Friday, the Redskins opted not to ask Taylor to take a pay cut. The team did want to add a clause in Taylor’s contract requiring him to participate in the team’s off-season workout program. Taylor declined, leading to his release. One of the NFL’s premiere pass rushers the last decade, Taylor posted 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks in an injury plagued campaign last year. After overcoming a knee injury in preseason, Taylor suffered a calf injury in Week 3 that sidelined him for three games and lingered most of the season. Taylor played his first 11 seasons in Miami. His 120.5 career sacks are the most among all active NFL players and rank 14th all-time in NFL history. Zooty
Possibly a move to get Peppers? I think you'll need a lot more cap space and a 3-4.
