myhousekey
Looks like the page has since been moved from "Roster" to "Draft Prospect" on the team website. Pretty funny nonetheless... http://www.waitingfornextyear.com/?p=8492
budlitebrad
Gotta take everything with a grain of salt this time of year. Didn't someone get a shot of the Cowboys' "draft board" last year?
tazinib1
Wouldn't surprise me at all. He'd be an immediate threat to start along side Edwards.
CD6405
Yeah, but who's going to get the ball to him? Anderson & Brady haven't instilled much confidence it.
piratesownninjas
Wouldn't surprise me at all. He'd be an immediate threat to start along side Edwards. I still think Edwards gets traded before or during the draft. He's got a massive payday coming up at the end of the season.

Randall
Looks like they are looking at several players. The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to travel to Texas on March 18 for a private workout with Longhorn defensive end Brian Orakpo. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/...ip_to_chec.html
loaf
if this happens...then I see a Maclin in our future The New York Giants have inquired about trading for Browns receiver Braylon Edwards, Ken Palmer of The Giant Insider reported. The report debunks rumors that the Browns had talked about trading Edwards for Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka. Instead, the Giants reportedly offered Cleveland the two draft picks they received from the Saints last year in exchange for tight end Jeremy Shockey: a second and fifth. The Browns asked for receiver Steve Smith instead and were told no. The Giants then offered either of two other receivers, Domenik Hixon of the University of Akron and Mario Manningham, a native of Warren, Oh. The Browns declined both. Talks ended after that, but could heat up around draft time, the report speculated.
dirtdickens
I still think they trade out of it. With the report of Smith going first that pushes Curry and Crabtree down and makes our pick that much more valuable. Somebody will pay the asking price to grab one of those two. Capt. Stanky
As a Braylon Dynasty owner I sure hope they draft Crabtree or Maclin. If they do I also think he gets traded during the draft. The Giants and Eagles make the most sense. I like him much more with Eli or McNabb throwing to him. How about Reggie Brown and the Eagles 2nd 1st round pick (#27 I believe) For Braylon and the Browns 3rd round pick. Sounds reasonable to me, no? Edited March 23, 2009 by Capt. The Irish Doggy
Doesn't this "accidentally" happen every year to some team?

Joshua Cribbs is firmly entrenched as the KR and Maclin is definitely gonna be used on special teams his first year. They would be better off looking at a guy like Hakeem Nicks, who can enter the starting WR lineup immediately. I forgot who I was talking to this morning, but we were discussing Reggie Brown and he made the comment about Reggie having T-Rex arms. That visual cracked me up. gilthorp
Doesn't this "accidentally" happen every year to some team? If those teams have a sharp IT and Creative Marketing dept, there will be pages ready to load and roll within 30 minutes of their selection. The Browns probably have 10+ of these ready to go live. Randall
DANA POINT, Calif. - Eric Mangini, exiled to Cleveland, and Brett Favre, retired in Hattiesburg, are making plans to be reunited in Browns training camp this summer. Mangini, who Tuesday strongly defended the job he did in his three years with the Jets, later told the Daily News he has been text-messaging with Favre since they last saw each other on Dec.29, the day the Jets fired Mangini and one day after Favre played what turned out to be the final game of his career. Favre's meltdown in the final five games cost Mangini his job. But now the odd couple are working out the logistics to spend time together this summer. "He might come out to training camp to visit," Mangini said. "Maybe I will have him do the show team or just hang out." Since Favre is still under contract to the Jets, Mangini can't have him put on a uniform and run the practice team, of course. But he didn't rule out Favre being a guest instructor for quarterbacks Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson, who face an open competition in camp for Cleveland's starting quarterback job. Mangini simply likes the idea of having the future Hall of Famer around for a few days. "I don't think it would be anything formal," Mangini said. "It's not like we are hiring him to run the scout team. I don't think he would be interested in that. He would be more like a visitor. An open invite." The relationship between Mangini and Favre was dissected after the worst collapse in team history transformed the Jets from an 8-3 team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations after back-to-back victories in New England and Tennessee into a 9-7 disaster that missed the playoffs. Mangini insists he had no problem with Favre, who has never bad-mouthed Mangini. "We had a legitimately good relationship," Mangini said. "He's a good guy. I like Brett a lot. That was a tough situation for him to come into and I thought he handled it incredibly well." In fact, during the season, Mangini's wife gave birth to their third son on Oct.10, Favre's 39th birthday. Following up on a promise he made to Favre when the Jets were recruiting him, he gave his son Zack the middle name Brett. Asked if that will now change, Mangini noted he didn't change the middle name of his second son. "William," he said with a laugh. That was for Bill Belichick, once Mangini's mentor but now his No. 1 enemy. Mangini, who had never addressed his firing with the Jets, answered questions from the Daily News at the AFC coaches breakfast at the league meetings and left little doubt he felt he did well enough to keep his job. He judged his career on two winning seasons out of three, but the way the Jets folded last season should not count as a winning season. Incredibly, Mangini was out of work for about 10minutes before he was hired by the Browns and basically allowed to hire his own general manager. dirtdickens
Orakpo's pro day went well for a DE. NFL Network said he was a DE and did not show the skills needed to become an OLB in a 3-4. His coverage ability is non existant and Mayock pretty much said he should not be drafted to play OLB. A few of the other talking heads said he could play depending on what the defense asked of him, but with the non covering Wimbley on the other side I have a hard time believing we take another guy who is a rush only player. Mangini, please learn from your mistakes and success. Forget this Gholsten clone and draft a corner. Please.
Mr Hammock
This is all fun; however we have to keep in mind that the people who run the site are not the same people who make any personnel decisions. If this was done by anyone in the team office then it was done only to be misleading. I doubt that is the case, though. This was more than likely a test by the website team to add in all the possible prospects. Maybe now they have decided not to follow thru with it.
