The next time the Tennessee Titans try to desecrate a Terrible Towel, they’ll have to deal with a house full of Steelers fans.

The Titans open the 2009 season with a Thursday night visit to Heinz Field, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The league is expected to make the announcement later today in conjunction with the league meetings in Dana Point, California.

The game will be played on the evening of September 10, and it will pit the top seed from the 2008 AFC playoffs against the defending Super Bowl champs.

Since 2004, the league has opened the NFL season with a game involving the reigning league champs.

It was going to be the Ravens. However, the Ravens asked the league to not schedule them in this or any other night Heinz field game. They are tired of getting abused by the Steelers. Maybe they can ask that they only play the second team.

Ugh....after 8 months of no fantasy football, we get this points extravaganza.

Pitt 13, Tenn 6.

45 combined when they played last year, though most were by the Titans

However, I believe the Steelers got the last laugh.
