peepinmofo
E. None of the above. ...i.e., they pick a vet off the heap or trade for one (see: Larry Johnson)... Isnt LJ almost 30? You really think they want another has been RB? Not to take anything from LJ, but I think they want to get one in the draft.

Wpob
Will be 30 in November. They draft they guy from Connecticut (Brown) nad hand him the reigns from day one with Hightower as the change of pace back.
bpwallace49
I think they draft a RB and use Hightower as a goal line guy/ bruiser. I see a speedier pass catchin g RB like Brown/Ringer that can be a guy between the 20's with good hands.
dirtdickens
Beanie will be a Card. If not, I would think a Guy like Jeremiah Johnson would be picked late in the draft.
irish
Beanie will be a Card. If not, I would think a Guy like Jeremiah Johnson would be picked late in the draft. I agree with this in that the Cards end up with one of the "Big 3" and if not, they get a guy like J. Johnson (who you mentioned) or a guy like James Jones or Cedric Peerman. dirtdickens
I think for most teams the thunder and lighting backfield works, but with the Cards offense I think you need bruisers. What does everyone make of the Beanie Wells climb up the drafts lately. NFL Network has him going like inside of 12 now.
Seahawks21
Personally I would love Wells at 4 to Seattle. I know it is a stretch, and he isn't Adrian Peterson or Darren McFadden, but the Hawks' biggest need is at tailback. He got the "overhyped" tag which dropped his stock. Now people are starting to realize that he has a lot of burst and an NFL ready body. As for the Cards, I can't see them adding another back. They've got the veteran who showed some signs last year, and they've got the young fresh legs, but neither guy is good enough at this point to carry the load. The best thing for this team is to split them pretty evenly, and ride whoever is hot.

i_am_the_swammi
Send Boldin to the Eagles for their #21, then take Moreno.

irish
Did you just put McFadden in the same tier as Peterson? I think he meant based solely on where they were drafted. Obviously you can't compare the 2 based on talent and production.

I guess that makes sense... Both were taken at 1.4 right? Well then... Still, is it really that far fetched to say McFadden > Wells? irish
I guess that makes sense... Both were taken at 1.4 right? Well then... Still, is it really that far fetched to say McFadden > Wells? I think ADP actually fell to the 7th pick. Who really knows who's better? McFadden and Wells have different styles but both have very good to great speed. The issue is McFadden went to the Raiders- Ugh! and we'll find out in a few short weeks where Beanie goes. Obviously where he ends up will have a large impact. Also the health factor always plays a major role. McFadden couldn't stay healthy last year with his toe issues and Wells has been nagged by injuries throughout his career and he may always have durability concerns given his size. So maybe they'll end up being similarly productive.
Savage Beatings
You down with OPP? Yeah you know me! They've paid Edge a lot of money on his contract already. And he doesn't have a lot of leverage to try to force his way out for a shot at another team. I think Edge stays in Arizona one more year, and he splits time with Hightower again. I think it will not be clear who will be the starter from week to week.
Suture
Pretty much anything would be an upgrade over Hightower. One game wonder.
irish
Pretty much anything would be an upgrade over Hightower. One game wonder. You know when I first read this I thought, that's a bit of an exaggeration and then I took a look at things and realized that Hightower had just 1 game of 100+ yards rushing (109) against the Rams no less and other than that never topped 40 yards (37 yards-the most) the rest of last season. He did have 10 total TDs but 7 of them came in the first half of the season. He split carries evenly for the first and 2nd half of the season getting 71 in the 1st 8 games and 72 in the 2nd half of the season. He had a 2.8 ypc average over the season but for the first 8 games had a 3.06 ypc avg. and the last 8 games had a 2.15 ypc avg, compared to Edge's almost 4 ypc avg. He got about 9 carries per game and for all but 1 game (as Suture stated) didn't do much with them except score TDs. Hightower had 156 fantasy points on the season and over 1/3 of the points came from just TDs. After looking at the stats, you'd have to believe that the Cards will be drafting a RB and James would be the CoP with Hightower possibly doing GL or short yardage duty. The key here is that the Cards are pass heavy offense and if there is in fact a 3-way split than Hightower, if he ends up with the GL/short yardage role, may have the most fantasy value. However, there is still rumor that Edge will be released by the team leaving only Hightower and that the Cards will be drafting a RB in the 1st round. I doubt Knowshon Moreno is still there and in that case they may go with Donald Brown (who may not be there either) or LeSean McCoy.
