Duchess Jack
He's got to be one of the better FA wides left. He's big 6'2" and has great hands. He's not the fastest guy and had some injury issue but the good clearly outweighs the bad in my mind. He's really shown some flashes. I don't know what happened in Carolina last year but at 27 he seems to have time to fix problems with is game. I'd love to see Miami make him an offer. Savage Beatings
My guess is that at this point teams are just focused on what will happen in the draft... then if certain teams haven't satisifed their needs at WR through the draft, you will see Hackett get an offer pretty quickly. He's probably part of the backup plan for a lot of teams right now.

Randall
Same reason Drew Bennett isnt getting any love . . . they are always hurt Yeah but he'd be a good red zone threat, a possible role player.

That's good thinking. Do you think the same will be true for Marvin Harrision? I'm thinking the Colts might scoop him back up if Marvin can be reasoned with. LoneWolf1023
Why would anyone give Hackett a shot? He's been in the league for 4 years now and yeah, he's a couple of good games, but for the most part, he's done nothing his entire career that would make him any better then a #4 or #5 on any NFL team. Although, he might do better then that on a couple of teams, but that's only because the WR's on those teams suck. lol As another poster commented, Hackett's main problem is he can't stay healthy. If you can't show the team you're on that you can stay healthy and contribute, you're not going to have a job in the NFL for very long. Since he can't do that, I'll be very surprised if he makes any NFL team this season. Sorry, but it's true.

He's just been in some bad situations. I'd be thrilled if Miami signed him.

If by bad situations you mean ACE bandages, then yes I would agree with you. Would also agree that he has the tools to be a better then average receiver. CD6405
He couldn't crack the top 3 in Carolina, why would anyone want to bring him in?
Seahawks21
He really is a big talent, just can't ever stay healthy at all. Unfortunately, that is more important than talent. He is just a waste of money and a roster spot. There is not a bigger DJ Hackett fan on these boards, but the only thing he is proven is that you can't rely on him. That about sums it up - immensely talented, but you can't help the club if you're in the tub.

Randall
He couldn't crack the top 3 in Carolina, why would anyone want to bring him in? Because DeAngelo Williams couldn't either until last year. Cracking the top in Carolina has long been about more than talent. Why not bring him in for the minimum and see where it leads?

Why not bring him in for the minimum and see where it leads? Agreed, in Carolina it's more about who has seniority even if they suck, that's why Delhomme and Muhammad still have jobs and why Chris Gamble got a huge extension.
