The couple in "couples shower" are the guests of honor, not the attendees and is just another way to extort free crap out of your friends. That said, any guy who's at a couples shower is very, very likely there because he's seriously involved with a woman who dragged him to it. Then I went outside, did a little yard work and came back in and took a shower.
