Zooty
Well, after 10 years of drafting lineman in the first 2 rounds they finally have enough to splurge and get a WR AND RB. Who knew? I'm not sure about the Mackin but now at least we have 3 slot receivers And hopefully McCoy is better than Hunt I expect a TE in the 3rd and lineman the rest of the way with a DB thrown in for good measure
irish
Very good picks for the Eagles and as a Cowboys' fan I'm pretty annoyed watching the Eagles and Giants better their teams while we trade down and let the Bills draft a guy I was hoping the Cowboys took, in Levitre. Avernus
Eagles still need a TE and some secondary help...and then they can draft all the linemen that they want... there is supposedly word out of Carolina that Peppers could be moved and that the Eagles are one of the teams... anyone down in the Carolina's have any input on this? Sgt Ryan
Maclin is going to be a stud. I dont see a problem having 2 burners on one offense. Geez, McNabb should be in for one bomb TD every game with those 2 WRs. But the two OT you guys got in the offseason were huge for this franchise. I see holes at DL and LB, that Im sure you can address tomorrow.
mark b
Is Mccoy Westbrooks ultimate replacement or a stop gap?
StormChasers
Is Mccoy Westbrooks ultimate replacement or a stop gap? McCoy is the type of RB they needed. He can ultimately be Westy's replacement especially because he has good hands out of the backfield.
irish
Is Mccoy Westbrooks ultimate replacement or a stop gap? Could be replacement. His biggest area of deficiency is his lack of experience in pass blocking. He will most certainly need to improve in that area.

I was surprised by the Maclin pick but not disappointed. There is going to be allot of speed on the field this season.
whitelightning
this team is going to be like when you were out as kids playing football. ok, everyone go deep except you. if everyone's covered, i dump it to you. westbrook/mccoy could get 100 catches easily. Bingo. Makes printing up play books muuuch simpler. Nice 1st day for Philly.
TDFFFreak
When I first saw the Eagle's draft, I scratched my head a bit, but I'm getting it a little more now and I like it.

You should absolutely be loving the Eagles draft. You could always be a fan of another team having a terrible draft, like the Cowboys. Flypaste
Two 5th round picks to the Patriots for CB-Ellis Hobbs. I know Hobbs had a down year but the price seems right.

That was a good deal for both teams but I really liked it for the Eagles.

I could be wrong, but I thought we had very nice depth on the DL...
fitzkek
The front office has actually had a very nice offseason. We added Leonard Weaver, Stacey Andrews, Jason Peters, Sean Jones, Ellis Hobbs, plus the picks of Maclin and Shady McCoy. Great job!
Flypaste
That was a pretty fruitful 5th round for the Eagles. Ingram has nice value where he was drafted... If healthy he could be an asset as a receiving tight-end. I like the Macho Harris pick as well, though he probably projects more as a safety than a cornerback in the NFL. He is a fiery guy. Definitely a project. Fenuki Tupou I don't know much about though it is no surprise that they would draft for depth along the offensive line. The Hobbs trade is interesting, I'm just not sure where or how he fits. I definitely don't think this means Brown is done in Philly, and I thought Hanson had the nickel spot locked up. Is he just depth? Edited April 26, 2009 by Flypaste
dirtdickens
Good job Eagles, I love your draft. I would have killed for McCoy to go the the Browns. I thought Donald Brown was your next Westy, but........ Edited April 27, 2009 by dirtdickens
