Browns Draft

When we traded down I liked the direction we were headed. A lot of the guys I liked were in the late first and 2nd round.

Mack is pretty good, have to combat Ngata and Hampton twice a year.

Robo and Masaqoui are devepment guys, but solid depth

DE and OLB selections were a little puzzling with the players still on the board.

Late rounds we did well.

It looks like the goal was to lay the foundation for the future. Get some good character guys that will be role players. I am okay with that, but there was a lot out there that would have helped a lot.

Here is what I think we could have done.

1. Maclin

2. Barwin

2. McCoy

2. Moala

4. DJ Moore

I like the DBs, but in this cae would have traded out James Davis for LB Marcus Freeman.

Robo has some issues. He is tall and runs good routes. Strong character guy. No speed, despite his pro day, he can not get seperation from defenders in man coverage. Not big and strong like Joe was and he will struggle.

Rey would help in the middle, but I think OLB is a bigger problem. I really like Barwin, strong against the run, can get after the passer and is good in the open field-played TE.

I read somewhere that if Braylon plays out the year and the Browns make him an offer, as an RFA, the Browns would get a 1st and 3rd round pick. That seems to agree with what's posted in wikepedia, but I'm no expert.

He was drafted in 2005. RFA's have 3 years of vested experience. UFA's have more than 3 years of vested experience so he becomes a UFA once the contract expires.

Is there something new coming in 2010 in regards to the collective bargaining agreement? Someone posted about it on another site but I cant find it.

It states there will be no salary cap, but restricts top playoff teams in signings UFA's
