They haven't won since he retired. They've been rebuilding since 1957. During his 10 seasons with the Lions, Lou Creekmur helped the club to four title game appearances in the 1950s and three NFL titles (1952, ‘53 and ‘57). Read the transcript from Lou Creemkur's History Week Q&A from June 15, 2001 A large degree of the success of Detroit’s offensive stars-Bobby Layne and Doak Walker-during the 1950s can be attributed to Creekmur. The 6-4, 255-pound star from William and Mary was a force at both tackle and guard for the Lions, and he even spent one season (1955) filling in at defensive tackle following Les Bingaman’s retirement. I thought it was the Bobby Lane curse. After being traded in '58, Lane said the Lions wouldn't win a championship for 50 years.

tazinib1
That curse is a myth thus the Creekmur curse. Deemed by 1 local sports guy. Isn't a curse a myth to begin with? Unless you really believe in that kind of stuff.
