Savage Beatings
What is the point of that? Aren't they more than flush with talented RB's as it is? Are they just trying to dry up the FA market so they can make a few trades later on down the road? I don't get it. Anyone care to splain these moves? piratesownninjas
Lorenzo Neal is a fullback who will open holes for the running game. The other fullback they have on their roster is coming off a bad knee injury. as far as Gary Russell, who know, I don't see him making the roster. darin3
Neal, if he has something left in the tank, could be a hugh add.
tazinib1
Neal, if he has something left in the tank, could be a hugh add. I agree. McF is too dumb to utilize his FB though...he'll try to run around in the backfield and end up on the IR. Hey McF? Ever hear of working out the lower half of the body? Now that the Michael Bush/FB experiment seems to be over, maybe the brass in Oakland will realize how good he really is.....or not. Savage Beatings
Ok, I understand that Neal is a FB (which is a postiion of need for them I guess), but isn't he like 50 years old now? And Russell just doesn'tmake sense any way you look at it... unless they are considering him at FB maybe.
Randall
Neal, if he has something left in the tank, could be a hugh add. And try and tell Michael Bush to play fullback after last season.
piratesownninjas
Ok, I understand that Neal is a FB (which is a postiion of need for them I guess), but isn't he like 50 years old now? Neal at 50 years old is still an elite blocker.
Seahawks21
Neal at 50 years old is still an elite blocker. Yep. He can still find the hole and can still send a linebacker halfway to China. I played fullback growing up, so he has been one of my favorite players for years. Does anybody remember when he came into the league? He was only on the field to lead block for Mike Alstott, when they would take Dunn out. Dunn would trot off the field, then this boar of a human would take his place. I swear they only ran two plays, blast up the 0 hole, and blast up the 1 hole. It was about as much fun as I've ever had watching football. There was a drive that stands out where they ran the same blast like 11 plays in a row, and marched all the way to the zone on a late 3rd quarter drive, maybe in the playoffs even. Those two guys left carnage all the way up the field. Oops. Don't know where all that came from. So ummm, yeah, good signing. Russell was a Steeler right? That credibility alone should be worth the money it will cost them to have him in camp. If he ends up winning the #3 job, that can only be a good thing, right? That means he has been playing well. My question though....what's up with my boy Sweet Lou Rankin?

Capt. Waffle
The word used most when in reference to the Raiders........WHY? The more some things change, the more they stay the same...........
The Vatican Hitsquad
? what don't you get wit the Lorenzo Neil/FB explanation? Pretty sure we don't have a FB that caliber on the team...

Run DMC is going to be huge in 2009. Neal was able to make LeRon McClain a stud last season. He can do it for McFadden too.
LosGatosEnFuegos
I don't get why the Chargers let Neal get away. Does anyone know why the Ravens made the same mistake? I know he's old, but he's still holding his own.
Turf Smurf
There are few great things in life you are truely greatful for....being in the AFC West with Al Davis is one of those.....the older he gets and the harder he tries to cling to his hallucination of power is awesome. What other division gets a total pass on an entire team??? So, argue about full back, and the Broncos will smash them again.
Randall
Michael Bush is going to be huge in 2009. Neal was able to make LeRon McClain a stud last season. He can do it for Bush too. Fixed
