You are aware that the "American" you speak of also owns the Tampa Bay Bucs, right?

On a side note: I believe that yesterday was the first time that ManU has ever lost an European final.

I believe this is true... Also, if memory serves, they were the only unbeaten team in European Finals with more than one appearance.

Indeed. It was also the worst performance they have ever put forth in a Euro final. They played poorly, Barcelona played very well and deserved the win.

No 1999 miracle win a la Bayern Munich to be had this time, sadly.

I do't like either club, but from a sponsorship standpoint it's hard not to root for Barcelona:

while Manchester proudly displays it's broke sponsor, AIG funding this 50 million dollar PR move with money from overburdened tax payers, Barcelona touts UNICEF on their spamshirts and pays UNICEF for that privillege :tu:

Confirmed. That is surely unparalleled anywhere in sports.

OK, it is now safe for you guys to wear your Manchester United shirts again in public:

And the rest of us can become even bigger Barcelona fans.

Nice deal. Even with the inflated value of top class players, $125 million will enable United to buy a couple world class players.
