Sparkling Wine Cocktail

Recommended Posts

I have to come up with a sparkling cocktail, using prosecco by sunday for a party of 45 people. I have a ton of blueberries and will most likely make a puree out of em, along with something else added. I was thinking of taking a page out a good friend who owns the best restaurant in the Chapel Hill area  , and using Lychee as the other "ingredient".

I am open to any suggestions, or any cool summer wine cocktails y'all may now of, that I haven't thought of yet. I'm not set on using those ingredients so please don't hesitate to let a brotha know!

I found one called "Off with the Fairies" that's basically champagne and blueberries....:D

The issue with doing a blueberry puree is having all the guests tongues blue afterwards . . .

I would recommend using a raspberry on the lip with a small amount of frambroise from Marie Brizard in the processo. The color will be a light pink, very summery.

Otherwise you can stick with a classic and use strawberries, but that tends to work better with a classic champagne than with a prosecco.

Any fruit you use with a prosecco cant be too sweet, because prosecco is sweet enough already . . . .

Xtian, provided you give props where needed, I allow you to use the Kid Charlemagne

1/2 oz St. Germaine Elderflower liqueur

1/2 oz Chambord

Rest of the flute with sparkling wine

Panties will melt.

in the spirit of a kir royal, was thinking about the prosecco with a blueberry liquor (or blueberry port), and your blueberries as garnish. if you went in a different direction, blueberry vodka with ginger ale (or sprite).

Thanks old buddy. The blueberry and lychee purée didn't work out too well. I still have till Sunday so I appreciate it.
