Jackass
Childress called into KFAN this morning... he said that there NEVER WAS a deadline. ESPN got it 100% wrong. Will be interesting to see how ESPN responds to their completely indefensible story. Some of the blame directed to Favre should be directed to ESPN. WaterMan
Can we save this thread for when some people start posting Mort info like it's 100% true?

He could have been told he's going to look stupid (even more than usual) when Favre doesn't show up.
Savage Beatings
If you believe Childress. He could have been told he's going to look stupid (even more than usual) when Favre doesn't show up. Werder reported that there was a deadline of this week. Childress says without any room for doubt that there was no deadline. I don't htink he would have called into KFAN just to state an outirght lie. There are many problems with Childress as a head coach, but I don't think the man is a liar. It makes much more sense that Werder's source got it wrong, and Childress has just confirmed that he got it wrong. Unless Werder actually wants to come out and defend himself by calling Childress a liar... then that would be pretty interesting to say the least. Valhalla
I think Favre would make a good backup in Green Bay!!! Keep your discarded filth! HI PIRATESOWNNINJAS!!!!! Edited June 11, 2009 by Valhalla
MikesVikes
You have to believe that the ESPN was spitting out crapola about the deadline for Favre was this week. Does that make any sense for Favre OR the Vikes at this point? Why would Favre commit by this week even if he doesn't know if his arm is healthy enough to play? Why would the Vikes need him on board or sign him when they don't even know if he's good to go yet?

ESPN is standing behind it's report of a deadline for Favre even though Childress said there is no deadline. Intersting line from Florio at PFT: So, basically, ESPN is saying that Childress is lying. Hugh 0ne
Contrary to you Savage, I believe Childress about as far as I can throw him. He probably came up with some dumb idea like setting a timeline, someone pointed out how stooopid it was after the fact, and to save face he lied about it. Pretty much what I would expect from the dumbass.
CaP'N GRuNGe
Meh, over time I've come to believe Childress isn't a bad guy and actually would be pretty good in a front office type role. I just don't think his vanilla game plans on Sunday are very good.
