Henry Muto
Am I safe to assume this system on MFL works the same as the WCOFF system ? Anyone here know if this is true ? If team A bids $10 on Rice and then bids conditional $10 on Sharpe drop player X then team A also bids $10 on Sharpe again and drops player Y He would get both players as long as no other team bid more then $10 on either player even though they have them listed in rounds 1 and 2 ? Bronco Billy
Here's wht I put up at ATAP to assist owners: Conditional Blind Bidding @ mfl.com tutorial Conditional blind bidding has been set up at the mfl.com site starting June 3 (next week). The bidding will be run by the site per ATAP rules, so make sure you have any bids in by earlier than 8:00 pm EST on Wednesday of each week or you will be shut out by the site. Conditional blind bidding at mfl is simple: Bid one round for each FA that you want to acquire. Conditional bids are placed as additional players each round. For example, let's say that you would like to acquire one of the following players in the priority order below: Jim Brown, RB, CLE $5 Walter Payton, RB, CHI $4 Barry Sanders, RB, DET $6 Emmitt Smith, RB, DAL $3 You would enter each player with the amount that you want to bid in Round 1 when you click on waivers for your team at the mfl.com site. The site will then assign each player by priority established by the league tiebreakers (highest bid, then worst record, then fewest points scored) until the FAs are gone. Once you win a FA from the list above, he is assigned to your roster and the $$$ deducted from you $$$ total. If you don't have enough money to cover the amount, it will go to the next priority player on your list until it either finds a player that you can afford or you run out of players. Notice: priority is established by the order you place the player in, not the amount that you bid on them (ie - Walter Payton would be assigned for $4 before Barry Sanders would be assigned for $6). ------------------------------- Suppose that you would like to acquire two of the RBs listed above in the same priority order and dollar amounts listed above. Then you would do the following: Round 1 Jim Brown, RB, CLE $5 Walter Payton, RB, CHI $4 Barry Sanders, RB, DET $6 Emmitt Smith, RB, DAL $3 Round 2 Walter Payton, RB, CHI $4 Barry Sanders, RB, DET $6 Emmitt Smith, RB, DAL $3 You simply remove your first choice of player from the list and relist the players in Round 2. Then if you win Brown in Round 1, the site will check your round 2 choices to see if you have the highest bid (with tiebreakers) in the next round for those players. Note: Rounds only establish which priority you place players in. Another owner's Round 1 does not take precedence over your Round 2 just because of round number. The site will assign Brown to whomever has the best bid, and then search all other rounds for the next RB on your list - Payton - and compare him to all other bids for Payton regardless of round if you put him into more than one round. That allows you to win two players on your list in the same FA session. You can also change the amounts that you want to bid on the players in the subsequent round if you don't want to spend as much for a round 2 player if you think you may have already won a player in round 1 - it's up to you, but by reducing the amount bid, you also increase the risk of losing the player, which may not be desirable if you lost your top priority player. You do this for as many rounds as you want to win players in FA for that week, as long as you have $$$ available. ******************************************************************** ***** LINK to FAQ for blind bidding at mfl.com Edited June 19, 2009 by Bronco Billy
Bronco Billy
He would get both players as long as no other team bid more then $10 on either player even though they have them listed in rounds 1 and 2 ? Yes, as long as he had the money available. Rice would be assigned first for $10, and then subsequently Sharpe woul be assigned for $10 (assuming the Rice/Sharpe conditional bid was in an earlier round than the primary Sharpe bid, otherwise the assignment would be reversed an the conditional bid on Sharpe wouln't make sense).
