Cowboyz1
Ok here is your chance to call out the player or players that you think will be one of those guys who grace the league every say 50 years. We are not talking about a good player or even a great player. We are talking about E. Smith type player, Steve Young, John Elway, Walter Payton, Jerry Rice. I have been watching football for about 35 years and I have seen the players get faster, stronger but there is one thing that stays the same and that is the IT factor. What ever IT is, there are players that have it and players that don't. My player is Felix Jones. I have watched what he did early in the season last year and training camp practices, and what I saw was amazing. He has the speed of Tony Dorsett and the vision of Emmitt Smith. What is even more scary is that he has great hands, and when I say great I mean watching him catch the ball it is effortless for him even one handers. This kid is going to be very special. He has the size, the speed and the moves to be one of the great backs. He runs to daylight and naturally feels where people are and what angles to take to beat them. His personality calm and determined. High character guy that wants to be great. Humble but aggressive. Watch this kid I really think this kid is going to be special and take the Cowboys to another level. There are a lot of things that have to happen such as health and opportunity and such but I believe this kid has what it takes. He see's the field like few can. So who is your guy and why? keggerz
Adrian Peterson Reason: just watch him run Edited July 15, 2009 by keggerz
Perchoutofwater
Adrian PetersonReason: just watch him run Peterson has the talent, but I don't see him lasting. His running style and previous injuries (college) make me doubt he ever goes to Canton. ETA: I think he has a much better chance than Felix Jones. Perchoutofwater
I'm going to go with Calvin Johnson, and Patrick Willis would be my first two choices. I can also see Matt Ryan going eventually though I have a lot more confidence in the first two picks.

peteteacher2001
I'll go with Joe Thomas and Patrick Willis. Dominance from their rookie seasons.
muck
One name not mentioned yet is Mario Williams. He's gotten better every year and I'm not sure there is a better YOUNG d-lineman in the league (i.e., Peppers and a few others are better, but they are also much more long-in-the-tooth). Donutrun Jellies
Want a less than obvious lurking in the shadows? Brandon Pettigrew. True.
Perchoutofwater
Joe Thomas. Good call, he probably has a better chance than anyone mentioned yet.
piratesownninjas
Greg Jennings, Marvin Jr.
Puddy
Ya know, this is a very difficult question when it comes to the running back position. Given the evolution of that position, how many backs have a realistic shot based on historical stats while sharing the load in most cases. Slaton and Forte appear to have better situations as the primary back. As it stands today, Chris Johnson may not (even though he is probably more talented than both). I'm interested in seeing how this plays out. Will the NFL revert back to the one back offense scheme or is the RBBC here to stay (my guess is that for the most part, it is). I agree that of the young receivers, Calvin Johnson is the best bet....of course, his team may hinder his chances

Seahawks21
Calvin and Willis seem to be pretty solid choices. I'll add Stafford to the list. My crystal ball says Matthew Stafford. Stafford and Calvin are going to have huge careers. I know this means the Lions probably have to win a Super Bowl. The safest bet this year is probably one of the tackles. There are a bunch of good ones. I think the most talented is Andre Smith. If he gets his crap together he is going to be a force.
Duchess Jack
QB - Put me down for Joe Flacco. I don't know if there's ever been a QB like him in the league.
The Wolf
I'm going with Nick Mangold.
Azazello1313
they've all been mentioned, but calvin johnson, matt ryan, willis and clady seem like good bets.

That really kinda scares me.
