electricrelish Posted July 22, 2009 Share Posted July 22, 2009 In a follow-up to the thread about Chris Johnson at http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=289757, I have also found a conflict with how The Huddle is reporting the value of Steven Jackson this year. The Huddle's RB current rankings has Steven Jackson ranked as the fourth best RB this year and the third best as a keeper. In a 12-team league, Jackson's auction value is worth 30% of your budget. Kevin Ratterree writes in his July 13th article Players to Avoid in 2009, "I would love to gamble on a guy like Jackson. Maybe in the second round. Or the third." Ratterree's opinion is in sharp contrast to The Huddle's high rankings of Steven Jackson. I realize that there are different writers with different opinions, but I don't know if all of these writers contribute to the fantasy draft kit and player rankings. Were the rankings developed by a committee for The Huddle? If so, is Ratterree part of the committee, or is his article just an independent opinion that has no relation to the current rankings? Or should I make minor adjustments on my own using such questionable pieces of info? Of course, I take into account everything that I can find that is germane to a player's performance. Whenever rankings are somewhat of a collaboration and include both player projections and risk, compromise is required. As a result, I would imagine some would still feel uncomfortable drafting them where they are rated. You have to go with your 'gut' along with the rankings.
