Bills camp

Recommended Posts

When on 11 on 11 they were exclusively No-huddle, the entire practice. Same for 7 on 7 but sometimes it's hard to tell when a coach steps in. Evans and Owens made several excellent catches a couple for TD's. Owens almost snapped Leodis McKelvin's ankle with a move towards the sideline that went for a long TD.

James Hardy is on PUP but can come of when healthy, not waiting until week 6.

Steve Johnson continues to impress me with his "hands" catches.

The defense was flying to the ball and had a couple tipped ballI int's and were VERY agressive even without pads. Several offensive players ended up on the ground after making or trying to make catches.

Derek Schouman was the main TE involved but the newly signed Shawn Nelson caught some balls underneath and in the flats.

Protection was OK for Edwards but they did not have two projected starters on the O-line signed yet, Levitre has since signed and Wood should soon I hope. On the O-line, they might not be as good for a while. But the are going to be smarter, tougher, and meaner at every position. Given the choices I'll take those and wanting to be here over talent that checked out last year over money.

Following up from OTA's Fred Jackson continues to catch passes in the flats. Throughout OTA's he would line-up split out and run patterns.

Dominic Rhodes was 2nd returning kicks but I wouldn't read alot in that. McKelvin and Mcgee are primaries there.

They spent alot of time kick return practice. Just a hunch but I see McKelvin and Mcgee in the same time running some trick returns.

Entire O-line in camp and signed.

Steve Johnson rib cartiledge injury, day to day.

Jarius Byrd signed also. Interesting thing here, he was thought to have a chance to start at free safety in place of Bryan Scott allowing Whitner to move back to SS. But Byrd missed OTAs with graduation rules and now is recovering from sports hernia surgery. So he is going to be WAY behind. Scott at SS and Whitner at FS seem a lock now.

Quote of the day: Peter King at Bills camp, " (TE) Shawn Nelson is taking camp by storm !" COO Russ Brandon agreed/confirmed.

Maybin still unsigned and Brandon said, there's some work to do there. He said they were close with Eric Wood and Byrd and with-in hours they signed. So I suspect Maybin is unsigned until next week.

Quotes are from sirius radio which was at Bills camp.
