Johnson will be missed!

Two huge reasons I will personally miss him:

He became D coordinator for the Eagles in 1999.

1. Since 1999, NO NFL TEAM HAD MORE ATS WINS than the Eagles.

2. Since 1999, the Eagles were 2nd in terms of average ATS margin.

He controlled that D and anytime the Eagles came to play, you (for the most part) knew you could count on a solid defensive effort and an ever changing and adapting gameplan and from the defensive guru.

For us gamblers, he gave a sense of cautious optimism every time we had an Eagles bet on the line: that his D would be as prepared as they possibly could be. The level of aggressiveness and preparation made the game a little less stressful to have money on. Definitely one of the best in the business.

O/T:

How do I link directly to an individual post. Does anyone know? I know clicking on the "Post #27" gives me a link like:

http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?s=&a...t&p=2886526

Which skips down to the post. But is there any way to have a link that goes only to that post (cutting off all other posts in the thread) and not a link to the thread that jumps to the particular post? Thanks.

No. A post is part of a thread and can't be sepatated from it.

Interesting post, and as I mentioned in the other thread, he was a solid character and obviously an incredibly talented DC. RIP and condolences to his family and Eagle fans.

What's amazing to me is that JJ was never a head coach in the NFL. Perhaps by choice, and if so, a great choice for him, his family and Philly fans. RIP coach ! You may be gone, but your defensive schemes will live on.
