This team has been a mess for a couple of seasons - will 2009 be any different?

 

How will JaMarcus do this year? Boom or bust?

 

Darren McFadden - what can we expect from the high draft pick of 2008? More of the same or is he actually a talented and dangerous runner?

No Jeff Garcia? May be a good late round pick.

From what I have read, the team is focused on getting Russell to become their starter for the next decade. Garcia was brought in to push him and help aid in that growth. The only thing I read where it looked like Garcia would play is either due to injury or Russell falling completely off the face of the earth.

 

This team is in no way ready to contend, an, for once, da Raiders are making the right choice, IMO.

I still think McFadden could be special. He's got amazing speed and can be an amazing back. I think he has potential to be a stud #1 this year baring injury and whether or not the Raiders decide to take the same approach with him that they are with Russell. Make McFadden the main RB. If they split carries then he could be buried forever on the Raider depth chart and never emerge as a fantasy stud.

I think with Russell it's still too early to call him a bust. He may in fact struggle big time this season as well. I like Garcia to take over (I already see it happening) and he could put up some decent fantasy numbers if he does. McFadden is the real deal and hopefully he can stay healthy enough to show off his skills! I also like Bush to push Fargas down a tier. As far as WR's go I like Chaz Schilens as a sleeper as well. As of now though the only 2 Raiders I am drafting is Zach Miller and McFadden. Although If I can get Bush at a low price I will draft him too.
