  1. 1. What are your expectations of the TB rushing game?

    • Derrick Ward primary back with some help from Graham
      8
    • Ernest Graham is primary back with some help from Ward
      6
    • Even sharing between Graham and Ward
      7
    • Not sure - looks like a mess to me
      6
  2. 2. Which TB quarterback posts the biggest stats this year?

    • Josh Freeman
      6
    • Luke McCown
      5
    • Byron Leftwich
      3
    • Wow - it doesn't matter anyway
      13
  3. 3. Antonio Bryant had a career best year in '08, what about this year?

    • About same 1270 yards and 7 Tds
      2
    • Even better season than 2008
      0
    • A little worse but still worthy of a fantasy start
      19
    • Falls off the map yet again
      6
  4. 4. Kellen Winslow - what to expect?

    • He's back in Florida and will dominate
      10
    • Just a marginal fantasy starter for '09
      17
    • Nah - he'll drop way to far to interest me

This team looks messy with a QB situation that is very unresolved and questions as to whether Ward or Graham will matter the most. Kellen Winslow shows up but does that just mean less for Antonio Bryant who only recently realized he was an NFL wide receiver.

But there has to be some fantasy value on this team - where is it?

A lot of people dismiss Ward's numbers with the Giants as a product of the scheme and/or a dominant o-line. Didn't hurt that he had Jacobs there to pound the crap out of the defense before he came in to mop up. And you know, Ward is talented but those people are right. Ward has about as much of a chance to rush for 1,000 yards in Tampa Bay as I do. He's going to be looking at 8 men in the box most plays and will be getting creamed more often than Jenna Haze.

I think Freeman wins the starting job if not in week 1, then by week 4, and will NOT be this year's Ryan or Flacco. Winslow will be the only viable fantasy starter on this team, and just barely. Young QBs always look for the TE.

5-11

Ward's draft stock has been slipping since May steadily. I saw him drafted in the second round in one league but now he mostly hangs out until the 4th or 5th rounds.

I've been taking Graham in the 11th or 12th in 10 team mocks. Why not? Better than spending a 4th on Ward...

I agree. Graham is a serviceable back IMO, Ward is only good on a good team with a great o-line and other talent around to keep D's honest.

This team is in obvious need of a QB to step up. Which one? Who knows. I think the plan was McCown but they have been impressed/surprised by Freeman thus far. Truth is, the guy they go with at QB should only need to be pretty good with the potential weapons they have on O. Ward and Graham are both pretty tough runners and more versatile than most give them credit for, both Bryant and Winslow are tough match-ups for almost anyone and their O line isn't great but it is big and talented. I'm not predicting greatness by any stretch but the O could easily be above average.

For the first time in a decade or so the biggest question marks are on the other side of the ball. If the D falters it could put a lot of pressure on an unproven QB making for a tough time on the O or it could simply mean many more touches for the aforementioned players.

Bottom line: Team record = mediocre

but this team may well put up some surprising numbers

Living in Tampa, I won't likely have many of them on my team in my local because they'll go higher than I'm willing but I think there are some potential value picks on this roster for those in leagues without TB homers.

One final note - Winslow was this staff's big offseason move so I would be shocked not to see him get more than his share of looks.

Just to confuse the rb situation further, Carnell WIlliams is practising...

Yeah, I thought about going back to my post and plugging that in immediately after I finished but decided he is really a non-issue until he shows he can carry a full load on those knees. It was remarkable that he came back the first time so I don't rule it out but for now I'm in the let's wait and see camp.

lol @ drafting him even that high.

I'd say 99% that NOBODY on TB will be on my team. Way, way too up in the air.
