The 1st overall pick in 2007 JaMarcus Russell seems to seem like just another bust in oakland but will thing change this year? The final games of last years regular season 2td each game and only had 8 interceptions on the year. With the addition of Bay and supposedly the sleeper of the year Walker at reciever could this be a break out seaon for the lovable Raider qb? Did i mention the Mcfadden is on his wheels agian, without injury couldnt he help this club win some games? With so many questions to ask about the Raiders organization what will become of the 2009 season  court adjourned :D

So far reports out about Heyward-Bey are that he's dropping everything.

I'm no DHB fan, and do think that drops will be a part of his problems in the bigs, but word out yesterday was that he was doing a very good job of securing passes - something like 16 catches on 20 targets.

BTW - I agree with the O-line comment. They're loaded with track stars at WR, but in order to utilize their strength you've got to allow them to get off the line and downfield. OAK's O-line hasn't upgraded from last year in any meaningful way, meaning they ought to be running a controlled timing game utilizing short crossing routes - but that goes directly to Russell's weakness. Plus he's got Garcia chomping at the bit to displace him.

I think Russell is a bottom 5/6 FF QB when comparing starters in the NFL, meaning he's almost undraftable except in very large or start 2 QB leagues.
