What was this guy thinking ?

A guy just traded his 4 and 55 picks for the other guy's 13 and 40 picks ? 10 man league

This gives the other guy 4, 8, 21 for his 1st 3 picks.

Seems like a crazy trade to me.

Anyone else think crazy ?

Drop from 4 to 13 and only move up from 55 to 40 ?

So he got a 2.3 and 4.1 for his 1.4? So he has the 2.3/2.8/3.8/4.0/4.8? Whats wrong with that?

10 team league. 1.04 and 6.05 for 2.03 and 4.10? First off, how do they get picks like that matched up unless there were other trades previously? Plus the guy getting 1.04 also has 3.01? So they traded previously also, since the 3.01 owner would also have the 4.10 pick, unless trades in that league are just flying all over the place.

But I agree, the value exchange is way out of line. You're just going to have to draft that much better...

Sounds weird trading 4th and 5th round picks like that. I have traded the 4th pick for the 6th and an 8th rounder that turned out to be Winslow a few years back.

According to ADP Houshmandzadeh, T.J. SEA WR would be 40

and 55 is Thomas Jones(Eddie Royal or Derrick Ward would be there too).

Seems like too much to give up to move up 1 1/2 rounds that late.

And the math curse strikes me again. Unless of course this isn't a snake draft.

We draw picks every other round so we draw 1st, 3rd, 5th ect and reverse 2nd, 4th, 6th ect.

I used MFL to draw the picks

Who in the Seven Hells came up with that idea? If you're going to do this, the minimum block of rounds you should do it with is 4. Doing it every other round will almost assuredly result in substantial imbalance.

Bad decision there, Henry.

Been doing it this way for 17 years now. It works just fine.

Why should the guy who draws the 10/11 combo be penalized and forced to take the 30/31 ? Answer is he shouldn't

So what is the problem with reversing every other round ?

If you draw the 1st round as the 7th pick you get 4th pick in round 2 or the 7/14 combo

Then say the guy draws pick 3 in the 3rd he gets the 23/38 combo

How is this a bad idea ?

Why should the guy getting the 1 pick automatically get the 21 pick ?

Now that makes no sense to me.

IF you feel that strongly about fairness in the draft, you should be looking at a 3rd round reversal - not some random draw that occurs so often that it virtually guarantees a worse result than a serpentine draft.

Not to pile on, but nothing really surprises me in a Henry Muto league. Having such jacked up rules is why you get such jacked up results. You're asking a bunch of people, many of which have been playing fantasy football since scores were tallied from the Monday morning newspaper and have been involved and/or concocted just about every convoluted way of twisting this game possible, if we can help you understand something that has gone awry in one of your leagues. The funny thing is, as many years as The Huddle has collectively in fantasy football, every time you post something about one of your leagues all we can do is say what the hell?

I'm sorry, I can offer no advice & I shouldn't even bother posting in this thread without something constructive to say. I'm by no means an expert on fantasy football & far be it from me to tell someone how to run their league, but dude... You make my head hurt.

I agree or have an auction league.

$100 entry. Not my highest entry league for the season but it should be high enough to get out the shoe clerks and the crum bums.

so you think that the money someone pays is indicative of their fantasy smarts

tell you what we should start a league with 16 teams....allow me to find 8 guys that pay $10 to play and you find 8 guys that will pay $100* to play...winner take all...but a catch...if a $10 player wins then they donate all their winnings to MSHB or another charity...if one of the $100* guys wins then they get to keep the entire amountI(less MFL fees of course)...oh and yeah it should be a full fledged IDP league too...I mean if they are willing to part with that sorta loot they should be on top of everything, including IDP.

*or more than 100 entry fee for your 8....you want 8 guys that will pay 1000 each then that is cool.

and these are the rules we can use for scoring and starters and blind bid waivers: : http://football19.myfantasyleague.com/2009...=14138&O=26

Sounds a lot like the way taxes are figured out in America.

My original local TD only league used to do this. I always complained about it until we stopped finally. It just brings luck into the picture and I'd rather have to rely on my drafting skills than the luck of a draw. I used to call it the Vegas draft.

I know the list will be long for the $10 entry teams, but, um, I'd be down for that. I already donate to MSHB, but that $800 could do a world of good! :D

We used that in my old 10-man, 15-round local. Draw cards after every second round. There wasn't a year that didn't have at least eight, mostly nine teams in contention going in to the last week of regular season.
