digitaldan21
This league has a few scoring oddities... 6pt Passing TDs 15pts/ 100 yrds Rec for TEs D's score a bunch, with little disparity between the top 10, about 1ppg from 1-10 or so. .5 ppr for all positions Small bonus for carries, .1 points per carry Draft order resets every odd numbered round. I hated making most of the picks I made, but there was not WR I felt like taking so I didn't. 1.09 9. Bonney Lake Blue Ballers Williams, DeAngelo CAR RBSun Aug 30 8:15:19 p.m. PT 2009 2.04 16. keggerz
round 5/6(turn in a 12 teamer) to take my 1st RBs Round 20(not a typo) to take my 1st QB(12 team IDP draft)....drafted Delhomme and he ended up the 12th best QB that year....unfortunately someone named DD21 took the QB I was hoping to take one pick in front of my 19.11 pick and that QB was Carson Palmer who ended the season as the #1 QB. edit: in the draft with the late QBs....round 17 Brees(13th QB taken, 7th end of yr rank), round 19 Brady (14th taken, 2nd end of yr rank), Palmer(16th QB taken, 1st end of yr rank)...and fwiw that was 2005 Edited August 31, 2009 by keggerz
Avernus
round 7 for a QB..... I realized that by round 5...everyone already selected a QB and the player I wanted was still available (I forget the name)....so I ended up waiting until the end of the 9th round to take that player and then ended up with Roethlisberger in the 14th round also... this was 2 years ago I think when Roethlisberger has the best year of his career in Tomlin's Rookie season at HC.... ....this paid of tremendously as I took the league that year... abishagenaden
If I were you I'd have taken Braylon instead of Bush at 5.02 and Walter/Hines instead of Roethlisberger at 7.06.
skylive5
Though you didn't know it.... there was a pool on just when you would recognize that you didn't have any WRs.
Henry Muto
I once didn't take a RB until round 7. For your team do you start 3 flex spots or what ? Why in the world would you draft like that ? Do you only start 1 WR or something ? Sure you see value at RB but taking Roeth why ? You have Brady sure he got hurt last year sure he got hammered into the ground by the big ugly but why take ur back up in round 7 when you have Brady ? wildcat2334
DD - not a fan of that draft at all....... Roeth? Bush/Moreno - and your first WR is Antonio Bryant , who is not going to be worth chit IMO - and the rest of the WR are a cluster of mediocrity - 1 or 2 could hit nicely but who?? without knowing the lineup requirements, that is a strange looking draft
digitaldan21
Start... 1 QB 1-2 RB 2-3 WR 1-2 TE 1 PK 1 D I honestly wasn't looking for a rate my team, I knew all along there were no WRs on my team. I honestly thought Mason and Walter would be there long after they were picked, I spaced on BMarshall and would've taken him had I noticed he was still out there. QBs scoring 6pts per TD is kind of a big deal as this league also pays weekly high score, and one of those could win you back the $100 buy in, if the waiver wire has been active that week ($5 per transaction). Having a viable backup QB can keep you in the running for some pots. Winning 2-3 high scores can pay better than winning the Super Bowl, so high risk/ high reard picks ie, Reggie Bush can be more useful. Thanks for the comments though, and everyone who was at the draft knows I didn't think I outdrafted anyone by any stretch of the imagination. I wasn't fully comfprtable taking Brady, but he can score 40-50 points and that can get you some serious coin with even a mediocre surrounding cast. I'll probably need to do work to get better than 9th place WR production from my team, but I don't think anyone in my league doubts I can get something going at WR. -DD21 Edited August 31, 2009 by digitaldan21

SheikYerbuti
I'd be interested to have DD21 update this thread in about 2 months and let us know how it worked out. That being said, I couldn't imagine taking my bench QB before having a WR1. I'da bit the bullet and taken whatever the best WR value was. digitaldan21
Guys, keep in mind, I'm not the one hyping my team, MFL is, Dustin knows my true feelings about my team, and I've been much more confident in years past than I am after this one. -DD21
TJOLIRPH
Round 13 and 14 in a 2 QB must start league picked Breese and Rivers as my 2 QBs (2005 or 2006 don't remember Breeses first yr in NO) a 10 team 14 round draft by round 10 saw everyone else had 2 QB's so I waited until the end. Finished as the championship loser
rajncajn
16 team local I waited til 8.12 to take a QB. Just worked out that every time I had QBs loaded up someone would take them before me & the talent pool dropped off too much for me to reach. We also had a few teams taking their 2nd QB very early and some of those same teams taking a 3rd QB as well. Not sure why, but we have 2 or 3 owners in our league who like to load up on QBs expecting to use them as trade bait later in the season.
