Cunning Runt
Well - I have probably been one of the single biggest advocates of fanball.com as a league hosting site. And had it stayed as it was in year's past, that would not have changed. Not sure what happened since the end of last season, but the change(s) are glaring. They tried to tweak things and in so doing have f'd up the functionality of many key features. Worse though is that they're barely responding to help requests. And on their site's "Commisioner Forum" where people post problems they're having, many commish's are indicating they're having the same problem(s), but yet after weeks, not hours or days, the problems remain and it seems help requests are going unanswered. This is truly a departure from my own personal experience with the site, but at this point, I retract any recommendations I had made for fanball.com as a hosting site. We're gonna roll with it and cross our fingers but I'm frankly quite nervous and pretty sure some issues are going to arise that create problems. I've forewarned the league and asked them if they wanted to change since there's still time, but we're gonna roll with it. Methinks we're gonna wish we would have changed as was my preference. Outshined
They re-wrote everything after Charch sold it. 2V might have more details on what they did. I have two leagues in Fanball...I don't like it either.
tosberg34
We moved to MFLthis year after being with Fanball for 5 years. We've had issues with them in the past but the entire rewrite they did for this year pushed us over the edge. Now that we've been with MFL for about 3 weeks I don't know how we ever managed without it. Fanball sucks bones. irish
Add me to he list of those who have recommended Fanball in the past as I've been a user for as long as they've had the service. However, I'm done with them as well and hate what they would call the "upgrades". I will be switching the rest of my leagues to MFL next year. We switched from a lesser site 5 years ago and have never looked back. Far and away the best fantasy league management site on the planet. Dont hesitate if you are thinking about it. The best there is.
tazinib1
I beat feet from Fanball last year, coming here on the recommendation of 2v and have never looked back. As far as hosting software, all the old-timers from Fanball have moved all there leagues to MFL this year and those guys are happy as a fly on chit. Fanball started going downhill the year before all the chit hit the fan and almost the entire staff was let go. They never did any upgrades or added functions recommended to them by there PAYING customers. As far as customer support....you might as well had been on the moon shouting your request...they were never heard.
Swashbucklers
Was going to ask something about Fanball earlier, as my long time local has always used Fanball. We cannot get a response to any of our questions and nothing works. Add/Drops, no list of available players. PMs non existent. No trade proposals. Commish has sent three emails and no replies. Fanball blows. THis is the only league I have there and have never had any problems in the past. Next year we will be at MFL for sure! I had leagues at Fanball before MFL got big and now only 2 of my leagues remain there while the rest are hosted at MFL for the last several years. kcmast
My league will also be leaving next year after 5-6 years. We have been contemplating for a couple years and I just can't take it anymore. Our FA and trades are unavailable. I sent complaints for both a week ago and have yet to get a reply. Our FA and trades are unavailable. I sent complaints for both a week ago and have yet to get a reply. I can't bid on any FAs but it seems as though our trade proposal option is working. Maybe it's just a matter of fixing a setting in the Commish controls? When I go to place a bid on a player it tells me that claims are currently in process. Valhalla
I left fanball as well for MFL but I don't understand why some people make it sound like the next coming to Christ.. The graphics suck and that front office program is a joke. I tried to input my historical league years from fanball and it was an epic fail. I will give them credit that they have a lot of bells and whistles to customize with, but very few people want to spend time working with that crap. I still think CBS sportsline has the edge right now.
hukdon49ers
I have been with fanball for 6 years now. I have noticed several changes this year, one being the nbc logo on top of the page. Havent had any issues yet but will keep my eyes open. Thanks for the heads up though.
Duchess Jack
on a similar note - what's up with the changes NFL.com made to the live stats area?!? They went with window-dressing over funcationality and straightfowardness.

Bronco Billy
Takes a real man to do that, Cunnung. If possible, my esteem for you has grown even higher.
BearBroncos
Tried EA and Yahoo last year and really didn't like either so we went back to RTSports which I like pretty well. Also did another YahooFF leaugue this year even though I really don't care for the site but, it's not the primary FF league anyhow so You don't bring me flowers...ANYMORE!! bpwallace49
I was on fanball for years back to when it was based in Minny with Charch and 2v. It is a steaming pile of crap now, and I refuse to even look at the site anymore. MFL has 9 out of my 12 leagues.
Furd
As I get older, and the vision starts to go, the most important thing to me is ease of selecting my lineup. Those drop down "starter/reserve" boxes with sportsline and fanball are rediculous. MFL wins.
Furd
Not to mention the ww.
Cunning Runt
Takes a real man to do that, Cunnung. If possible, my esteem for you has grown even higher. Thanks BB. I sported some wood there for a sec. Seriously though. The site and service went waaay downhill this time around and I didn't notice it until I started interfacing with it (loading rosters, etc...). Looks like I'll be heading MFL's way next time too. I just hope the site functions ok when it matters.
masterwing
I used fanball since 03 until this year. Our commish in 1 league worked for fanball and it was awesome at first. There was some quirks, but it was great! Last year that league was broken up, and my only other league left in fanball also left this year at the last minute to a free site. All i can say is it used to be awesome, and its not anymore. interface...service....forum...all junk now. i hate corporate america screwing with my ff!!!!!!! im going to google mfl and check that out. tazinib1
interface...service....forum...all junk now. i hate corporate america screwing with my ff!!!!!!! What kept me at Fanball for 2 years too many were the forums. Much like here, I made many good friends being a member since '98. I met some very good people here quickly upon my arrival that helped stem the blow but I agree...the forums were the best part of the site for me. Now its a ghost town.
