AWalls
Does anyone use the huddle's player projections to set their lineups? If so, how successful has it been for you?
Avernus
I never base my starting lineup on projections....I usually see if they agree with what I have or if they might know something that I don't and it is relayed in the footnotes... at the end of the day...you have the final say on your lineup.... never let projections set your lineup.....they are a tool, not a cheatsheet... AWalls
Yeah, I agree. I was wondering how accurate they were "generally" speaking. The projections match my current lineup. And this is my first year to have access to the huddle's projections.
cdrudge
Yeah, I agree. I was wondering how accurate they were "generally" speaking. They've been a feature for a long time and people read them. That should speak enough to how accurate they are. They are accurate enough that people don't just dismiss them, but they aren't so accurate that it's a guarantee. The projections match my current lineup. Then you have done the best that you can do without knowing the future.
Atlanta Cracker
Then you have done the best that you can do without knowing the future. Until you read the start/bench list and change your mind... I actually rely on the huddle projections quite a bit. It's as good a look at matchups that are LIKELY to produce points as I've seen. The thing you have to remember is that predicting touchdowns is harder than predicting weather, especially for WR/TE. I may skew my lineup toward someone with more projected catches/yards occasionally over someone with a projected TD and few yards. Usually I don't have the luxury of doing that. The main point there is that if you have a bunch of lower middle tier WRs and are trying to choose which one to start as your 2nd you may be frustrated when one on your bench scores and the one you started gets shut down. Skippy
I like to use the projections to confirm what I am thinking. I also very much use them to make a choice for me when I get to that coin flip for the 3rd or 4th starter. Nothing is perfect but they do a pretty good job of making informed projections. I make informed gut feeling decesions.
Company of Heroes
I use the start/bench and projections as a factor in deciding the tough choices. Typically this is the studs in tough matchups vs second tier talent in easy matchups.

Pkillebr
these are why i'm considering benching westy for rice. I'm struggling over the same thing with Portis @ NYG versus Rice at home against KC.
ChampSampson
They are VERY good. DMD and 2V are goot at their job.
Balzac
Never, ever use projections to set your lineup unless you're looking solely at yardage/touches. TDs simply cannot be predicted, so using projected points that factor in TDs is folly.
