kickureface
whos the best? i have it down to moss and the 2 johnsons. then again i havent followed the nfl for very long, but someone who does please enlighten. lets split this into 2 categories 1. whos the best RIGHT NOW and in their current situation 2. whos the best in their prime in a perfect situation (everyone played with the best qb, etc). for me its 1. moss 2. idk. i guess 2 is the main question i have. who has the skills, the physical, the work ethic, etc.
HowboutthemCowboys
If I was starting an NFL franchise and could choose any WR I wanted it'd be Larry Fitzgerald.

piratesownninjas
Reggie Wayne. And I'll go out on a limb and say that Greg Jennings is the second coming of Marvin Harrison... Just without the whole gun scandal thing.
kpholmes
Reggie Wayne. And I'll go out on a limb and say that Greg Jennings is the second coming of Marvin Harrison... Just without the whole gun scandal thing. Gotta go with Reggie as well. And I don't mean as the best fantasy WR - the best NFL WR. Flawless routes, beautiful cuts, great hands, and explosive speed. One of the best in the game right now.

SheikYerbuti
Moss is the best in the NFL when he feels like it. Fitz always feels like it. I go with Fitz.
FishFreak
Reggie Wayne? The guy is very good but not great and certainly not the best WR in Football. I would take Larry Fitz, Randy Moss, AJ, and CJ over Wayne any day of the week. I think Wayne is more in that second tier of WR's with guys like Steve Smith and Greg Jennings IMO. spider321
Calvin Johnson. Horrible team + Dreadful QB = 1300 yards + 12 TD's Fitz and Moss could not have done what Calvin did last season in Detroit. btw - Moss could've done it when he was younger, but he's not as good as he once was. Ice717
Personally I think I would love to have Hines Ward on my team. Play maker (take away the fumble thur.), can block, not scared to go over the middle. He may be lacking some of the speed he once had, but he's still getting open. Linebackers as well as DBs are always watching where he is on runs cause they know he's not taking a play off.
spider321
Whichever DB's are playing against the Panthers are the best wide receivers in the NFL. It does help that Jake hits them right in the numbers, tho.

johnny sack
MEGATRON The guy is an absolute monster...no other receiver would have put up the numbers he did last year in that situation...not Andre, not Moss, not Fitz.
TheShiznit
+1. Best ever? Rice, no doubt. Not even a discussion. If Stallworth or Swann had Montana throwing to them back in teh 70's, they might have been right up there However, lets not forget those whose careers were cut short due to injury like Sterling Sharpe....that guy could flat out catch anything that hit is fingers....but...I must say Rice will probably always be the best. Chavez
If Stallworth or Swann had Montana throwing to them back in teh 70's, they might have been right up there Stallworth was OK. Swann is in the HoF SOLELY because he made a few highlight-reel catches in the SB. However, lets not forget those whose careers were cut short due to injury like Sterling Sharpe....that guy could flat out catch anything that hit is fingers....but...I must say Rice will probably always be the best. Sharpe was VERY good, maybe AS good as Rice from 89-94....but you can't play woulda/coulda/shoulda with G.O.A.T. The guys closest to Rice as far as arguably the greatest WR ever are Don Huston and Lance Alworth.

Azazello1313
flip a coin between andre johnson, fitz, calvin johnson and moss. if I had to take one to start a team, give me calvin johnson as the youngest and most freakishly talented. Furd
flip a coin between andre johnson, fitz, calvin johnson and moss. if I had to take one to start a team, give me calvin johnson as the youngest and most freakishly talented. I agree with this. Hines Ward? Are you guys serious? At his peak he wasn't in the same class as the above referenced WRs. And his peak was something like 6 or 7 years ago. No def ever schemed to stop Hines Ward. When the best thing you can say about a WR is that he is a good blocker . . . you get the point. Skippy
I think it is a three way toss up for current with Fitz, Moss, and Calvin Johnson. Ever is very easy for me with it being Rice. There were plenty of other great ones but Rice was a notch above, IMHO.
Ralph Furley
Dr. CrapPants is the best WR.
