L.T now a gametime decision

As an LT owner I'm in favor of him sitting this week - heck come back after Diego's week 5 bye if need be. I'd much rather he sit out and try to get as close to 100% as possible instead of trying to run this upcoming 3-week gauntlet against tough, physical defenses (Balt, Miami, Pitt). Even if he were fully healthy, what could be expected over this 3 week stretch - generously I'd say about 200 yds & 3 TD's. After their bye SD's schedule gets very soft. Sure, if I were a Chargers fan I'd want to see him play every week, but I'm only a fan of LT's for fantasy purposes and I NEED him healthy from Week 6 on. After that his schedule is a cake walk all the way to a fantasy championship - although Week 16 @ Tennessee doesn't look too inviting.

I'm glad I followed my instincts of staying away from the dreaded 30+ RB thing. I know there have been exceptions, but the odds aren't exactly good for big things for a 30+ RB (with lots of mileage to boot). Too bad for LT, seems like now with Rivers coming into his own, it's too late because he may do a very fast fade (if he hasn't already).

Just think if that genius AJ Smith had kept Brees.......d'oh

That would be interesting for sure. It was such a tough call at the time though. Brees was very average until Rivers showed up. It was kind of odd that Brees was poor to average and then Rivers shows up and bam, he's suddenly a good QB. If they had it to do over, I think they still make the same decision.

I don't want to over-react, but I am totally at peace with LT being a bust already. Wish he could have bought me a couple more weeks until Lynch got back from suspension, but going forward I see LT as a match-up platoon RB going forward and not a must play guy.

Put a fork in him.

Yeah and Brees' injury questions made it a lot easier. Just think he could've been leading the Fins to victory after victory, but they chose Culpepper. lol

LaDainian Tomlinson did not practice Wednesday and was wearing a protective boot on his right ankle.

LT2 didn't sound like he had any idea if he'll play Sunday against the Ravens. "It's not anything that is going to keep me out for a long time," Tomlinson said. "We'll just wait and see how it plays out." Even if he plays, we're not expecting much out of LT2 on Sunday. Darren Sproles and Michael Bennett will get work. Sep. 17 - 10:55 am et
