BS Miscreant
Based on a couple of things... - Payton's stating that they have a clear vision as to Bush's role - His stats from week 1 - The fact that Mike Bell was the major fill in for PT Is that clear vision a RB label with a WR role? Stats would suggest an athletic WR type that catches a few passes with an occasional carry thrown in for good measure, no? Is clearly not the RB regardless of who's available? So what is it? Did the offensive dominance week 1 make the coaches hesitant to put him in harms way or is he just a bit player anymore?

Yes, more of his touches will be in the passing game, but he will get a good amount of carries as well. I would think this week would actually be a better match-up for Bush since they have a better secondary & a better pass rush. Brees will be looking to get the ball out quicker but I don't think he'll have the open WRs he had in week 1. BTW: I keep having to remind people that had Bush not had a TD called back for a non-relative penalty then he would have outscored Bell in FF points... Not the huge game everybody wants, but just sayin. Edited September 18, 2009 by rajncajn
willier_tuba
Bush is definately a good fit as a flex position. that is probably really what his role is. If you have two good RB you will get more strait running production from them. YOu probably are not allowed to start him as a WR so flex is a good option. He will get probably even more points from return game than he does from his rushes and recieving.

Yeah, I had considered the fact that the check down(ie Bush) might have been limited a bit by WRs running free in the Detroit secondary but last year, as you mentioned, he was the #1 RB(or very high at least) in ppr leagues when he went down so I suppose I just expected more. I realize 5 rec for 55 yds is a decent day for a flex but that's just my point, it was only decent. Excellent point on the called back TD though. To be fair, I'm probably a tad swayed here by my own roster quandry after my results from week 1. I just have to suck it up a make a decision or two this week and see how it goes. Thanks for the input.
