muck
Remember, there is lots of singing / dancing ... so, you have to find people who could carry a tune ... I'm going to add in some other important characters to Whompers' list ... Dorothy: Reese Witherspoon (remember, she sang her own stuff in Walk the Line when she played June Carter Cash and can have a young/innocent thing going on) ... or ... Miley Cyrus (i.e., Hannah Montana) Tin Man: (singing a duet in a Woody Allen musical/comedy in 1996) The Scarecrow: Dave Grohl (he always strikes me as someone who could act) The Lion: (singing and dancing) Wicked Witch: Oz: Dominic Chianese Muck as a casting director = epic fail

She is a disney channel product. She has a really big voice John Goodman gets my lion vote. He can sing as well and has the look Im gonna go Hugh grant for the tin man. The tin man always came off to me as speaking very proper and english like. Grant also is bumbly.

How about: Wicked Witch: Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi Wizard of Oz: Obama Good Witch: Sarah Palin Tin Man: George W. Bush or Al Gore (If I only had a brain!) We could have lots of funny Lollipop kids with Tony Cox and Mini-Me
Cunning Runt
Natalie Portman as Dorothy sounds very right. Jack Black is my least favorite actor, along with Jim Carrey, on the planet, so would prefer not to see them in any roles ever again. muck
Natalie Portman as Dorothy sounds very right. The possible trouble with Portman is (i) I have NO idea if she can sing ... and ... (ii) Dorothy is 12 years old. Not sure Portman could pull that off.
