looked and waited to see if anyone posted about this could have missed it though. surprised though that no comments have been made on Dorset  Romo. I think everything he said was right on target, but I would like to hear some homer views on this

 ?

Don't know a link heard his comments on SC Friday. figured it would be big news in Cowboy land, although you'll do like to alienate the Boyz pre-Jerry. said something to the fact of he doesn't know why Romo is considered a superstar considering he hasn't done anything special in his three years as a starter and hasn't won a playoff game.

Missed it.

Kinda pisses me off when these guys come out and blast guys that are playing now though. What purpose does it serve?

If you don't anything nice to say....

I herad about this. I also heard Emmitt and Troy had some disparaging comments as well. Troy was on Mike Francesas show swinging from Elis nutsack.

Dorsett is like a God to me. It bums me out that they threw Romo under the bus but they earned their stripes and all have rings. They must figure Romo was annointed and has not done much if anything at all . As of now they are right.

Well my take on this is that TD should not be criticizing Romo for this. Romo never called himself "great". The media built him up as great because it was a hot story. Now he has a bad game, and the media knocks him down, once again because it is a hot story.

Romo was long shot un drafted fre agent who rose to the occasion when they finally called his #. Considering that fact, he has way exceeded anyones expectations. He never asked for a "GREAT" tag.

I could see everyone wanting to take down someone who thrust himself into the spotlight and then faultered. Like Eli Manning acting like a spoiled brat on draft day and refusing to go to San Diego because that football town was not big enough for him. But come on now, Romo is all "awe shucks" and just trying to do the best with an opportunity that was given to him. And I think he has done fine. Sure, he's not HOF material, but he is the best Dallas QB in the last decade. I don't even want to mention the putrid names calling plays between the days of Aikman and the start of Romo. Quincy Carter, Ryan Leaf, Testaverde, the 2 baseball players- Hutchison and Henson, Anthony Wright, Clint Soerner??? I'll give some props to Bledsoe, but he was in his twilight years.

Romo is what he is and even has a few meaningful records in Dallas, but he is much better than what came and went in the 10 years before him.

Not sure you can blame Dorsett. Someone probably asked him a question, and he gave his honest answer.

Pisses me off more when guys are asked a question, and they sugar-coat their answers so to be sure to be politically correct.

I don't think it was as much a criticism of Romo as it was an indictment of the media for prematurely anointing him a superstar.

I saw this also and I think it was more about the media then Romo. I also felt like TD was trying to deflect some of the pressure for or from Romo. I personally think Romo has talent but was anointed way to early because of no worthy Dallas QB since Aikman. I believe this might of stunted his growth as well as having TO (which also helped him to be better than he was when he first started).

By the way I am a Giants fan. Eli was anointed because of his blood line. I think Roth and Rivers have been better than him. (winning SB is not how rate QBs personally if that was the case I would have to say that McMahon, Dilfer ect. are great QBs. NOT). I think Eli will be a good QB not great just like Romo will be good not great. The media is all about sensationalism never about objectivity.

\Many times they avoid answers because reporters will look for anything negative to start controversy like now. Most of the press have become tabloid rather than honest reporting.

And this.

Again, I did'nt see the interview, just wonder what good it does for a guy like TD to come out and say bad things about Romo.

I give up, why does anyone give a flip what Dorsette thinks of Romo? Hey I heard Sid Luckman was dissin on brother Cutler, wow

It is only news for Cowboys fans. Dorsett is a Cowboys legend . It isnt earth shattering news but interesting nonetheless.
