Menudo
The battle between the two young receivers for the #3 WR in Pittsburgh should be over. Mike Wallace looks phenomenal, with 5 catches for 80+ yards, while Limas Sweed does a repeat of last year's playoff game. Roethlisberger makes an absolutely perfect pass that drops into Sweed's hand in the endzone and he drops it. I still think Sweed has the potential to be very good, but, the guy is frustrating as hell. He just seems to lapse mentally. Wallace is one to watch for the future. The kid has talent. Squeegiebo
Santonio keeps this crap up, and Wallace should be #2.
i_am_the_swammi
Who's winning the battle for #1 defense?
SteelBunz
Oh....it's TOTALLY over. I don't know how many chances a coach and QB are expected to give a player......but if he's still ON the team next week, I'd be surprised. He wasn't going to get hit...he caught the ball.......just looked like he was afraid of the ground. And he was on his knees by then.....not even a long way to fall. Bonehead. That kind of non-performance can be a cancer/jinx to a team. If I were Tomlin, I'd release him with his year's salary just to get him out of the building. eagles2010
Was I the only owner who thought highly of Holmes last season only to watch him be mediocre most of the time until the play-offs?Holmes then came alive in the post season, but it seems like Holmes is inconsistent at best during the regular season. I wonder how and if his stats improve under the "Lights" or primetime matchups? If Wallace is the real deal and continues to improve, the Steelers would have a nice 4 wide set if Sweed does mature to a point where Ben can have confidence in him. I happened to catch a 3rd down play where Ben hit Wallace for the 1st down and though to myself that Ben must be gaining confidence in the rookie.Wallace was the 2nd fastest WR in the NFL draft and looks like hes bringing it to the field. He has the wheels!!!
Menudo
[/b] C'MON!!!! Perspective dude, perspective. I was talking in comparison to Sweed, not in comparison to Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald.
jaxfactor
I really like this kid. Can't say the same about the ultra conservative playcalling towards the end of the game. The Steelers are playing like they have the running game like years past. Their last possession(before the Hail Mary), everyone and their mothers knew they were going to run the ball. C'mon Mike! Do the same things you do in the beginning of a game to dominate! This looked like an exact repeat of last week's game against the Bears. Two games they should have won. The Irish Doggy
I thought he looked very very good. The Bengal CBs are solid and he consistently got the better of them.
