I am just curious as to how the Denver fanbase is feeling about Josh McDaniels as their team sits at 3-0, is playing solid defense, and has normally vocal and disruptive players falling in line and towing the team concept.

Are you done calling the guy McDummy yet?

Dude, for reals? They beat the Bengals, Browns and Oakland. Whoop-dee-flippin-doo. The jackass came in, pissed off and got rid of the best arm in football, and almost did the same with a top 3 WR. They'll probably end up with 4 or 5 wins. The man is an asstard. Plain and simple. I'll put it to you this way, I think Childress is a better coach, and that guy couldn't out-coach Rich Kotite.

The defense is doing great. There is no denying that.

But, we've beaten Cincy, Cleveland, and the Raiders.

That's the 25th, 31st, and 32nd ranked offenses in the league, and the 17th, 23rd, and 29th ranked offenses.

It's a stretch to call those teams below average.

And we still have a QB that can't throw a long ball or a fade in the end zone. I was pretty frustrated by Denver's inability to get the ball in from the 2 yard line yesterday.

Upcoming schedule:

- Dallas

- New England

- San Diego

- Baltimore

- Pittsburgh

I would be pleasantly surprised if we were 4-4 after week 8.

Feel free to mock me if I'm still underestimating them then.

You won't win one of those games imo. 3-5 is almost a certainty.

 at getting caught up in the success of 3-0 DEN so far. The CIN game was a gift in that the CIN coaching staff made some major gaffes in the O scheming all game long and it still took a gift from the heavens and a major CIN D f-up to win that game. CLE and OAK barely qualify for NFL offenses. CLE has scored one O TD in the past 9 regular season games and OAK is averaging 12 ppg this year, which is down 27% from what they were scoring last year as the 3rd worst scoring team in the NFL.

I'll take the schedule a bit further than that:

4 Sun Oct. 4 VS. DALLAS

5 Sun Oct.11 VS. NEW ENGLAND

6 Mon Oct.19 at San Diego

7 BYE WEEK

8 Sun Nov. 1 at Baltimore

9 Mon Nov. 9 VS. PITTSBURGH

10 Sun Nov.15 at Washington

11 Sun Nov.22 VS. SAN DIEGO

12 Thu Nov.26 VS. NEW YORK GIANTS

13 Sun Dec. 6 at Kansas City

14 Sun Dec.13 at Indianapolis

The only 2 games where they might be considered a favorite would be the WAS & KC games, and they are both on the road. There's a very real possibility that they'll go 2-8 in the next 10 games, figuring that they find a way to win one of the winnable road games and either manage an upset or win the other winnable road game.

That would put DEN at 5-8, with home game vs OAK & KC sandwiching a PHI road game. If they manage to win 7 games given how McHoody torpedoed the season before it even began, I'd call it very successful and surprising year. But the injury bug hasn't bitten yet and you've got an apparently very immature HC about to go through a very, very rough 10 games - meaning the wheels could come off the cart in a hurry.

Let's revisit this in the middle of November and again in the middle of December before we make a judgment.

:D the defense has looked really good...against the browns and raiders. they lost the cincy game flat-out, but for one of the flukiest, luckiest plays in NFL history.

I assume with the "normally vocal and disruptive players falling in line and towing the team concept" you're talking about marshall. marshall is almost certainly gone at the end of the year. and in the past, he wasn't disruptive, he was just out there catching 100+ balls every season and being one of the best wideouts in the league. marshall has one game with 4 catches and you want me to give mcdillhole credit for his handling of that situation?:D

but hey, even if they are better than I think and they win 8 or nine games, I will hate that little d-bag and the way he came in here. he inherited some of the best offensive talent in the league, and the offense is garbage right now, save some aspects of the running game he left intact. the only thing I really give mcdumbf*ck credit for at this point is hiring mike nolan.

On any given Sunday...

I'm thinking we have a chance of winning against New England, San Diego, or Pittsburgh. None of those guys are unbeatable. Hell, Cincy beat Pittsburgh, and San Diego almost lost to Oakland.

BTW, Cincy is 2-1 and has beaten Green Bay and Pittsburgh, 2 preseason superbowl favorites.

Say what you want about the opponents, but the team looks good and is playing tight football.

I would not refer to the victory over Cincy as "tight football". I would think of it more as "pulling a miracle out of their ass".

Unfortunately this is correct. Everyone knew that best case Denver would be 3-0, but the games have yet to begin.

I'll own up right now and admit that I have been wrong. The D looks credible and is making plays. The O is doing just enough to get by. I'm still not crazy about this team and think they're in for some rough spots, but they are playing a LOT better than I thought they could.

Ultimate irony: Marshall saved their arse today, and the announcers couldn't have raved more about how hard he worked in practice this week. My question: Why in the Seven Hells did it take so long to get Marshall to buy in, and why aren't they finding more ways to get him the ball? (and what is this repeated deep ball crap to Gaffney? C'mon! Gaffney?)

Two things...

First, the offense is complicated. I imagine Orton is running a stripped down version of the NE offense. The more success he has, the more McDaniels will loosen the reigns. I think that by the end of the season the offense will look pretty good.

Second, it's not easy for someone that's a prima donna to change their mindset. Big props to Marshall for buying in.

As to why he is not getting the ball more, I just think is will take time for him to become the Randy Moss is this offense. It will happen...same thing as is holding the rest of the offense back.

These are just my opinions...nothing really to back them up with. Just my speculation.

5 Sun Oct.11 VS. NEW ENGLAND -- no longer looks like an impossible task. Improbable? Sure.

6 Mon Oct.19 at San Diego -- same. Very tough, but no longer that far fetched.

7 BYE WEEK

8 Sun Nov. 1 at Baltimore -- This and NYG are almost guaranteed losses.

9 Mon Nov. 9 VS. PITTSBURGH -- Same as NE and SD.

10 Sun Nov.15 at Washington -- Decent chance of a win.

11 Sun Nov.22 VS. SAN DIEGO -- pretty good.

12 Thu Nov.26 VS. NEW YORK GIANTS -- loss

13 Sun Dec. 6 at Kansas City -- questionable in KC.

14 Sun Dec.13 at Indianapolis -- loss

At least three wins here. 3-6 in this stretch puts us at 7-6 and in contention for a playoff spot?

hard to believe, but that looks about right.

I still give mcMegan Foxles almost zero credit for this, he hasn't shown me anything except that the side of the ball he doesn't coach has shown up to play each week. the offense is terrible, despite having some of the best talent and one of the best OLs in the league. the cutler/orton disparity has been even more of a downgrade than I thought it would be.

I will point out again that marshall was never a problem before this season. he had his off-field issues with that chick, but he was never someone who had problems "buying in", he was just one of the best WRs in the league the last couple years. as it is, he is playing because he has no choice and is most likely looking for the first ticket out of town.

Are you sure? Which is the truth?:

or

We will never know because Shanny has too much class to say and is too smart to go burning bridges with people that aren't names Al Davis.

Marshall has had plenty of problems off field. I know you don't need me to dig them up.

Now Marshall is saying the right things, getting involved in the offense, and the team is 4-0. I would guess you will see Marshall in a Broncos uniform again next year, and keeping on doing those same right things.

not unless they franchise him and go through more drama.

this whole discussion is pretty funny. he makes a game-winning play, and that means everything is peachy between marshall and the broncos? oooh, now he's really "buying in", not like in the past when he was making twice as many good plays because he actually had a real QB throwing him the ball. I guess we shall see...

My saying he is buying in has nothing to do with the catch and everything to do with the way he is acting and what he is saying.

Even if the agreement between him and McDaniels is: Play the year out for me and I won't slap the FT on you, either way things are looking pretty good at the moment in Bronco Land.
