GB in a survival pool?

Do any Favre fans know Favre's W/L % after an emotional game winner like last week? I don't either but I'd love to know - and it's not a stat you can really look up because the emotional factor needs to be considered.

I was just watching the game winning recap on Sound FX (nfl network) and everyone was hugging his nuts after that play. Not saying it wasn't deserved - but even Favre had a glow about him, was giddy afterwards and obviously loving the moment (again, all deservedly so). My point, it just seems like the perfect situation where Favre lays a complete egg this week. You gotta think that GB has the advantage regarding familiarity between Favre and GB. Sure, ADP or the MIN defense could win the game for them - but I just have a hunch that Favre loses this one for the Vikings, somehow, someway.

Anyways, since my pool rewards more points if you correctly pick a dawg who wins outright, this one seems like the smart play. Who's with me?

I don't know about that, especially with what GBs O-line, run game and defense have looked like. I'm thinking that I'll ride hot Indy at home against Seattle with the backup Seneca Wallace QBing. Chicago playing Detroit doesn't look too bad either.

No offense but if you take Green Bay this week you have to be the biggest idiot ever. Granted, they could pull out a win but this game is WAY too risky to pick in a surival league.

Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, New York Giants, and even San Francisco are good picks.

You must have missed the last sentence in my post. We get more points for picking dawgs. This pool lasts throughout the year and you accumulate points, it's not one and done.

My apologies, did not see that. Well then go with Buffalo or New England. Both are 2 point dogs and should get wins Sunday.

I was going to post just to call you an idiot too :D . But in that case its worth a shot. Of course I think Minny and Favre are a lock to win this game but its worth a shot from your end for the points.

FWIW- the title does say "survial pool" which implies one and done

Aren't you the one that predicted Favre would retire about 4 years ago?

Not a good idea in survivor. Not a bad idea in straight pool.

The Packers do have a chance in this game. And that chance lies somewhere along your line of thinking. Brett Favre came back to the league in large part to stick it in and break it off in Thompson. And in his mind, the best way to do that is to pull off heroics like he did last week. Favre won't get much satisfaction in this game if he just hands off to AP all day. I look for Favre to at some point break out of the "good Brett" phase he has been in where he just does what it needed to win the game, and go for some kill shots. How that turns out might determine the game. I can almost envision this game playing out like this in my mind. Close game. Favre takes unneccesary chance. Pick six. Game over. Favre goat. Thud.

In any case, I damn sure wouldn't be betting on the Vikes this week, though everybody seems to think they will run away with it. But I picked them in the straight pool. If it were in GB I am on the Packers but not here.

A Lock? I think you're seriously misinformed if you think they are a lock. The Vikings have played cupcakes the first 3 weeks of the season and haven't faced a team like the Packers at all. They barely beat SF last week. They are favored only because they are at home.

I like the Packers in a close game.

You may be right on your pick but calling SF a cupcake seems pretty misinformed, IMHO. They are going to win the West.

Brent, I think this game probably should be an emotional one for Favre too if that factors into your consideration. I think Minnesota's defense will outplay the Packers OL and that will decide the game.

You're from Wisconsin of course you like the Pack this week

Farve wants to stick to TT too much to lose this game. I'm with Rattass' assessment of this game this week. Vikes win- Lock it up!

They may win the West but in the Weakest Division in the NFL. But maybe they are less of a cupcake than Cleveland and Detroit.

Yes, I am a Packers fan so I MAY be biased. However, with Favre you're going to get the greatest game ever or the worst game ever as there is no in between with him, especially when he's emotional.

It will be a close game but the Pack takes the win. Sorry, MN fans, but this won't be the year.

At the very least you could say the ViQueens are remarkably consistent. I see this year as no different.

Yeah, I was buzzed and lazy last night, probably should have been more specific.

If SF is a "cupcake" then I guess the Vikes are opening with 4 straight cupcakes. The Packers lose this one, and will lose to SF when they play.

So when they lose to the Pack it's going to be even sweeter. I can live with that.
