Harrison is the reigning king of cheap shots.Dungy agreed, maybe not necessarily with how Harrison verbalized it, but that it shouldn't have been a penalty. The game wasn't on here and the highlights didn't show more then just a second or two. Did Brady play up the hit as being worse then it was? He saw something that an official could throw a flag on a asked for it. In the end, the ref threw it. Should have, shouldn't have....happens all the time. Every WR in the league asks for a flag on just about every ball they don't catch. No difference here.

I could be wrong - but it wasn't a "he hit me late", but a "hey - I don't like the WAY he hit me - cause I'm Tom f'n Brady!" It just struck me wrong, is all. piratesownninjas
Either way it was a bad call. I also wonder if they call it if David Gerrard or Matt Schaub get brushed like that
Ursa Majoris
NFL has to stop attacks on the knees. It's a commercial necessity. Looked late to me.

michaelman
I won't jump to his defense because he hasn't been throwing deep to my Randy Moss Edited October 5, 2009 by michaelman

Brady should try everything he can to win. The ownness is on the refs, not Brady. Stop picking on the Patriots. They need every thing they can get. It's bad enough that they weren't allowed to tape the opposition's defensive signals. Now you want to try and take away preferential star treatment. Stop it. They're the team of the decade. Show some respect. Edited October 5, 2009 by electricrelish
Chargerz
NFL has to stop attacks on the knees. ....especially since I have him on one of my teams this year. "It's okay to cry, Tom! Go ahead!!"
Azazello1313
I saw the play live, and harrison's comments later, and I'm with harrison....it drives me nuts some of the stuff they call penalties. but I don't really blame brady at all for lobbying. he's done a whole lot of things in his career that might have made me say "brady is a bit&h", but that wasn't one of them. Sidney Crosby in hockey, Jordan in basketball, the better pitchers get a favorable strike zone in baseball. Same deal here. Don't blame Brady....blame the refs/umps that bend the rules for the superstars that make the leagues go..

This hit was really pretty similar to the one on Brady that caused the rule to be written, just not as much contact. I don't think the refs consciously call it different for Brady, I think that's largely fan perception.

STL Fan
Except that he barely grazed him. That's why I said there was not as much contact. But contact and the degree of contact is not required to make this call. If the ref thinks you dove intentionally at a guys knees, you're guilty, even if you miss him completely.
