This evening I had a trade offer from him - Manningham for Smith straight up. He tells me, "we both got them off of waivers and I think Manningham will have a better season - but I just like Smith". Henry Muto Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Passed on him in all 13 of my drafts this year He went in this range 10th - 16th round...so every draft I was in a major steal Instead I went with Hixon in a few and Nicks in a few and I dropped them both in every league and Nicks comes back and scores a 54 yarder! I dropped him just before week 1, then picked him right back up after that week 1 game....WHEW!!! I just traded him a couple days ago along with Rice for Slaton and Ocho. In a second League, he went undrafted, I plucked him up out of the FA pool a few days after week 1. Still have him. In my 3rd League, he got drafted 170th by another team, and he wisely held him. I used my waiver 1.. on manningham instead.. while some1 else got smith... But i then traded manningham in a deal for brandon jacobs (in sig) so I don't know if I missed out too badly... gilthorp Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 I'm most happy when I drafted him as my #4 WR in ATAP Dynasty. Put him with Jennings, Desean Jackson, and a mix of Hester and Harvin, and this is a nice WR corp I can live with for years. Took him in the 15th round in my local (strange draft set up) and as my #3. TO is firmly on the bench unless Manning is hurt too badly. SheikYerbuti Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 In 3 of my 4 leagues I shrugged my shoulders and drafted him somewhere between the 12th and 15th round, thinking I was just being a blind homer. In one of them Nicks went first, then Hixon, then I got Smith. He's really saving my a$$ this year, since I also took Tomlinson in 3 of 4 leagues. Drafted him in both my leagues (got him at auction for $4 and in the 9th round of my WCOOFF). Been starting him since week 2 and thankfully not looking back. Guy in my main local has Smith and Benson. Rovers Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 I took a top WR in most of my drafts early, and waited on Smith and Cotchery. I knew both would be getting the possesion targets and GL looks and would drop in most drafts. Sometimes you hit it right... sometimes you don't (R Rice in the 4th). I took a flyer in a couple of leagues with Hixon.... he will not be starting over Manningham when he returns. Win some, lose some....
