An Open Letter to David Carr

Dear Mr. Carr,

I'm told you're the backup quarterback for my Giants. If this is true I'm sorry to hear it. Not due to your skill or lack thereof, but because I no longer have occasion to use the terms "Hefty Lefty" and "Pillsbury Throw-Boy" any more. Those were good times.

Anyway, to the point: You've probably heard there's a chance you'll be starting this weekend. My only memories of you are you running for your life in Houston and occasionally staying upright long enough to hand it off to Domenik Davis (wow, there's a blast from the past). I remember you complaining that your horrendous career was all the fault of a terrible offensive line. I even heard you suffered some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from being sacked so many times.

Well Mr. Carr, meet Shaun O'Hara, Chris Snee, Rich Seubert, Kareem McKenzie and David Diehl. You may know them as the best O line on the planet. As scared of the prospect as I am, Mr. Carr, I'm hoping you do start this weekend, at home, against Oakland. Because if you do fail to produce this Sunday then the truth will be made plain for all to see.

I hope this Sunday you get your chance to nut up or shut up.

Good luck,

A Giants Fan
