Wait to see how he practices today, if all goes well and he has a full practice, he will likely play. However, he has been splitting time with Wallace with the first team, so who knows....I'll try to update later today when I hear.

From CBS Sports:

Hasselbeck expected to start Sunday: All signs are pointing toward Matt Hasselbeck returning to quarterback the reeling Seahawks on Sunday against Jacksonville. The three-time Pro Bowl passer looked sharp while completing a second consecutive practice Thursday. It's his first work since he broke a rib Sept. 20 on a goal line dive at San Francisco. Top receiver Nate Burleson says he expects Hasselbeck to be throwing to him Sunday. Burleson cites Hasselbeck dramatically increasing his repetitions with the first-team offense Thursday plus the fact he had zip on his deep throws.

I posted yesterday in the other Hass thread on the first page that everyone here locally seems to have the opinion he will play.

ETA: from what I've heard it's due to the fact he has looked "sharp" in practice throwing the ball and this is a must win game.

Friday's practice report will probably tell us a lot.

My bad. I apologize  . My post was more of the fact CBS is so unreliable as opposed to someone posting news. I am always appreciative of folks posting news.

No need to apologize, I hardly interpreted your first post as "bashing". I thought of adding the CBS caveat to my original post and probably should have.

That wasn't bashing the poster, it was bashing CBS, who based on their track record, deserves it. You are right, CBS is probably the MOST unreliable source of info on the net. That doesn't mean they are always wrong.... but based on history, I discount anything they report unless I see it elsewhere as well.

Everything I've heard from the radio and beat-writers says that the buzz around the team is that given their schedule, if the Seahawks don't go into the bye at .500, their playoff chances are done. Mora talked to the team about what "they were willing to sacrifice" and that one of the things he meant was recovery time.

Their line is so decimated that there is worry that sending him out there could put him out even longer. But they're putting so much on this game that if Hasselbeck can stand, he'll be playing Sunday.

RENTON — Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is expected to start Sunday's game against Jacksonville, coach Jim Mora said after Hasselbeck completed his third day of practice Friday.

The Seahawks listed Hasselbeck as probable on their weekly injury report, which according to the league's injury-report standards means there is a virtual certainty he will play.

I was pretty much convinced to start Hass but I've changed my mind. I just have a feeling he wont make it through the game and if it gets Seattle gets behind early I don't see them leaving Hass in for mop up duty.

I'm rolling with Anderson instead. Probably will lose this week no matter who I start since my starting QB and RB are on a BYE. Oh well
