Ziachild007
if Houston could play two halves of football?
ts
Well that would just take all the fun out of their games. On a more personal note, at this stage, I'd happily settle for 1 Walter touchdown.
ts
Zia, why is HOU so intent on using C. Brown in the goal line RB role, since he seems to have little talent for it, based on the chances he's had so far this year?
Rovers
LOL... Brown in at the GL. Gee, the D has NO idea what the play call will be. Duh. Stuffed.

capostatus
it would be awesome if they could get the ball in from the 1 3 times i couldve used OT for some more points

Slaton can't be any worse, or try a QB sneak ... this is not the first time this year that Brown has not made it in from close range, and IIRC the times he did, it took a couple of tries? ABC123
NOTE TO HOUSTON! CHRIS BROWN SUCKS! ALWAYS HAS, ALWAYS WILL! THE REST OF THE WORLD KNOWS IT, WHY DON'T YOU? BIG $$ DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE OF THAT PLAY...

Ziachild007
LOL... Brown in at the GL. Gee, the D has NO idea what the play call will be. Duh. Stuffed. Ummm.........from the one yard line thats gonna be the call 90% of the time for most teams. Great analysis there. I just don't get it ... Slaton can't be any worse, or try a QB sneak ... this is not the first time this year that Brown has not made it in from close range, and IIRC the times he did, it took a couple of tries? Not sure. Brown is supposed to be the "power back" but after failing to win two games in the clutch I think this may be re-evaluated going forward. ABC123
Houston should sign Ryan Leaf as their "clutch" QB to go along with Chris Brown as their "power back"...

Don't let your homerism cloud your judgement, which it did here. Perfect time for a fade pass. Anything but a handoff to Brown. Hpw many times has THAT worked this year? Other than that funble Brown had? 90%? Yes, for most teams. But Houston keeps trying it, and they suck at it. When that play call doesn't work 90% of the time for your fave team? And you defend it? Re-evaluate? Re-evaluate?

Obvoiusly, you were not in my living room. Thing called the Red Zone channel. Schaub sailed that ball, it was the right play call. Shoulld have been a TD. Brown up the middle does'nt work. I won't make any silly statements like you did, and assume you have't been watching. So have other NFL teams. Brown in, run up the gut, and try to strip the ball. That isn't analysis, it's history. Time you brushed up on it.

Rovers
I wish I could.... but I own Schaub and Slaton, so your team's suckitude at play calling will haunt me all season.

Rovers
Ahhh......now I get it. I figured there had to be a reason you were leading the anti-Brown mob. Yes... the reason is he sucks and the Texan's O line can't roll a can of beans 6 inches in short yardage. I don't want Slaton to go between the tackles at the one.... and neither should you, if you want your team to put up a 6. It isn't a FF issue. Nice try. It's about winning, and in this case, losing games in the NFL with lousy play calls. When a team has clearly didsplayed ineptitude in short yardage handoffs, no matter what RB gets the carry, it's time to do something else. So.... you are saying you LIKE these Brown up the middle play calls? Why?

So.... you are saying you LIKE these Brown up the middle play calls? Why? I am saying if you can not line up and get one yard rushing for the TD then you don't deserve the 6 points. So I have no problem with them lining up and running it. Obviously Brown is not the GL back that Kubes thought he was so maybe its time to look at other options. I don't think passing every time you get inside the 5 is the right choice either.

I don't think passing every time you get inside the 5 is the right choice either. What ever works best is the right choice. Running between the tackles does not work for Houston. It's just that simple. It isn't Brown's fault. The O line just cannot get any push in short yardage. That is fact. Don't blame Brown. Blame an O line that just can't dun block in short yardage. And play calling that refuses to live and adjust to that FACT.
Ziachild007
blah blah blah Back to my original point.....if they played both halves every week they wouldn't find themselves in situations like the did today and two weeks ago against Jacksonville. MTSuper7
Which is it - Chris Brown sucks or the Houston o-line can't get any push to effectively run between the tackles?
